Description
The Department of Administrative Services, Building Division is looking for a Facility Maintenance Specialist to join our team. Location: 1700 N. Victory Rd, Norfolk NE

Schedule: 7:00am-3:30pm Monday-Friday, with on call rotation.
Examples of Work
In this position, you will perform skilled construction, installation, alteration, fabrication, maintenance and repair work. Interpret floor plans, layouts and mechanical blueprints. Repair/replace ceiling/floor/wall materials, electrical outlets/switches, and plumbing fixtures/valves. Work includes physical tasks including setup of modular furnishings, moving office furnishings and files, painting, mechanical repair and other finish work as needed.
Qualifications / Requirements
REQUIREMENTS: Associates degree or equivalent vocational education in construction, HVAC, welding, or other maintenance trades and one year of experience OR three years' experience in skilled maintenance, construction OR mechanical trades and experience leading/directing others in such work. (Experience can be substituted for education on a year for year basis.)

OTHER: Valid driver's license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation. Able to stand for long periods of time, reach overhead to perform tasks, bend, stoop, crawl, and climb while performing duties. Able to lift 50 pounds above your waist.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Perform skilled (advanced level) maintenance work in a variety of building and mechanical trades.

•Troubleshoot and identify problems, determine the materials and equipment necessary to install, repair, and adjust building structures, equipment, and fixtures understand and follow instructions.

•Determine appropriate work procedures.

•Interpret and work from blueprints, sketches, layout designs, and specifications.

•Use/operate hand and power tools and power equipment in a safe manner and care for/maintain hand and power tools essential for maintenance and repair work.

•Perform manual labor. •Work in tight spaces and at some distance from the ground/ position requires a high degree of physical activity.
