Reporting to the Maintenance & Reliability Engineering Manager, you will develop overall plant technical strategies focused on engineering, facilities, operations, maintenance, and environmental projects. This position shall provide solutions to technical problems and recommendations for improvements in production activities and manage the plant infrastructure maintenance and improvements. The individual in this position shall also develop plant specific engineering and maintenance strategies to achieve performance goals. You will create all plant technical expense budgets and works with Plant Staff Management to achieve the capital budget.

Position Responsibilities

  • Assist Plant in establishing safety of all our team members as the plant's first objective
  • Lead the development of the capital plan while coordinating with plant departmental leadership for continuing improvements.
  • Foster a team-based problem-solving methodology
  • Mentor junior level engineers to help further guide and develop their careers
  • Direct project engineers to resource projects, and provide SME guidance for leadership and support of projects, through start-up & commissioning.
  • Support the plant in conducting internal systems audits
  • Support the plant in providing direction in the development of long- and short-term plans and goals for the plant.
  • Support the plant in providing project and technical support.
  • Support the plant in participating on and leading project teams that improve safety, quality, labor relations, sanitation, costs and customer service
  • Demonstrate ability to use available application computer programs
  • Lead the plant in conducting team meetings for proper communications and development of teams.
  • Be the Facilities manager ensuring facility assets are maintained, facility issues are addressed, and coordinate for systems upgrades across the facility.
  • Provide leadership for plant infrastructure maintenance and improvements for continuing business.
  • Lead team in providing support for capital improvement projects for plant production processes.
  • Develop and provide metrics to show Facilities Engineering accomplishments, and to better serve the plant for current production needs and future requirements.


Qualifications
  • 8+ years in engineering field, in heavy industry, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
  • BS degree in engineering or related technical field.
  • Strong communication (written & verbal), interpersonal skills and negation skills required.
  • Ability to analyze and problem solve various technical related issues.
