About Sterling's Summer Internship Program
The Sterling Summer Intern Program is a paid 13-week program from May 22 - August 18, 2023. Sterling interns are provided hands-on work experience building upon knowledge and skills learned in the classroom. Interns work side-by-side industry leaders in a dynamic, fast-paced environment who are passionate about being part of a team developing life-saving drugs around the world. Throughout the 13-week program, interns will work on defined individual projects to learn about GMP fundamentals and techniques from Sterling professionals. The program concludes with individual presentations to our Germantown Sterling Leadership team and site.

Summary of the Role
The Facilities Engineering Intern will assist the Maintenance and Facilities Engineering team with developing and completing current projects throughout the campus in Germantown, WI. Evaluate preventative maintenance tasks and parts plan based on results of analysis. Support Maintenance department with investigating and troubleshooting equipment malfunctions. You will interface with cross functional teams in the development of project goals, scopes, and action plans. These teams will consist of Engineering, Maintenance, EHS, Operations, Finance, and Quality. The position requires behaviors of the Sterling core competencies and non-negotiables, as well as expertise in functional competencies included in this position profile.

Education and Requirements
• Enrolled in a 4-year college or university pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with of at least a Sophomore level.
• Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and documentation skills required.
• Excellent detail orientation and organizational skills required.
• Excellent problem-solving and basic trouble-shooting ability required.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Experience using AutoCAD or similar software package preferred.
• Awareness or prior work experience in a GMP environment preferred, but not required.
• Candidates need to be competent with Microsoft Office including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
• A strong candidate will ask questions, be self-motivated, have a strong initiative, and be passionate about working with and learning from others.
