The Clemson University Department of Philosophy and Religion seeks to hire a lecturer in Religion for the 2022-2023 academic year, beginning August 15th. Ph.D. in Religious Studies required or allied discipline (no ABD's). AOS open, but candidates should be able to teach introductory general education courses, in particular Introduction to Religion and World Religions. The ability to teach occasional upper-division courses in Religion and Literature and/or the Reformation is highly desired. This is a full-time position with benefits for one year (4 courses/semester), though it may be renewed if there is sufficient funding. Opportunities for additional summer teaching are available.
Clemson is a Carnegie Tier 1 Research University that combines the scientific and technological resources and expertise of a major research university with the academic and social environment of a small college. It is situated halfway between Charlotte and Atlanta in South Carolina's rapidly growing Upstate region.
