JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Description Summary:

Prepare proposal estimates (bids) for Indoor Air Quality - Environmental Remediation projects. Estimates man-hour and material requirements for Proposal estimates (bids) for the performance of Job Order tasks, Contracts, bids and other activities as required.

Primary Duties, Responsibilities:

Review RFP's, Specifications, Basis of Design and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.

Assist the project manager and sales team with change order estimates and cost analysis.

Perform take offs and prepare proposals using estimating software and Microsoft excel

Solicit subcontractor bids and vendor quotes.

Assemble estimating spreadsheets.

Support other department personnel as required.

Estimate small sized projects independently.

Promote quality and customer service.

This position will require the ability to assume additional responsibilities as the firm continues to grow or as needed by the immediate supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Candidate should have knowledge of the mechanical construction field with a strong estimating background in HVAC, on the commercial side.

Ability to operate a personal computer using excel, estimating software and other software as needed

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Positive Attitude

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers.

Education / Experience:

Experience in similar estimating and/or related functions.

Ability to read blueprints & understanding of measurement equipment

Previous work with computer programs such as CAD, etc.

Previous experience SalesForce / CRM preferred.

The desire to learn estimating strategies and techniques and how they would support corporate objectives.

Physical Capabilities:

Ability to visit job sites, climb stairs and ladders, maneuver in and around air ducts and work safely in close proximity to construction materials and equipment.

Ability to work in an office setting for 8 hours (or more) per day.

Ability to read and interpret technical documentation including CADD drawings, Blueprints, Submittals, etc.
Compensation
Nonexempt (hourly) position (commensurate with experience)
