  • Works under supervision of the Assistant director, Operations, following specific instructions and procedures
  • Receives and stocks processed and capital equipment; delivers items/equipment to patient care areas; assembles and prepares ventilators for use; maintains inventory of supplies and conducts routine maintenance and electrical safety checks on equipment.
  • Performs and maintains inventory on all capital equipment which involves placing inventory identification numbers on all new equipment and coding records of same; performs basic operational checks on each piece of equipment.
  • Receives. Signs for, counts and stocks all disposable and non capital equipment
  • Distributes processed and disposable equipment to patient care areas; delivers ventilators and other equipment to designated areas.
  • Assembles ventilator circuits and ensures ventilators are ready for patient use,
  • Performs basic electrical safety checks using voltage meters on ventilators and other electrical equipment: hooks up equipment by voltage meter for leakage checks and compliance with standard levels
  • Advises administrative staff of need to service/repair equipment
  • Performs minor to moderately complex repairs on respiratory equipment: removes screws, nuts, bolts, and replaces external or disposable parts and circuit boards; advises Supervisor of contract service needs.
  • Performs daily inventory checks and stocking as needed for the Department bronchoscopy carts
  • Evaluates and troubleshoots problems associated with respiratory equipment


Qualifications
  • High School diploma
  • Speaks and understands the English language
  • Ability to organize work
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Basic data entry computer skills
  • Required to work in all patient care areas within the institution.
  • Exposure to blood-borne pathogens and other infectious disease.
  • Ability to walk distances and push medical equipment weighing less than 100 lbs.
  • Required to work all shifts any day of the week.
