Job Summary

Builds, implements and directs environmental plans for the company. Ensures compliance with federal, state and local regulations as well as the company's policies and procedures related to environmental permitting and compliance. Leads the collaboration between environmental agencies and our Operations function for all environmental requirements.

What you will be responsible for

  • Provides leadership and technical direction to operations teams and environmentalstaff on environmental compliance and permitting
  • Develops, builds and leads a highly effective and successful environmental team for specific area of responsibility
  • Collaborates with cross functional teams to lead implementation of programs and processes to ensure effective environmental permitting and compliance
  • Drives and monitors asset environmental compliance through effective planning and metrics
  • Promotes strong communications to enhance and encourage environmental compliance
  • Maintains advanced knowledge of applicable regulations including the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Safe Drinking Water Act,Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Endangered Species Act and various state level regulations specifically in regard to the associated impacts on operations in addition to interpreting and applying state and federal laws as well as the company's policy and procedures
  • Identifies environmental risks which require priority attention and works with Operations and supporting staffs to develop and implement corrective actions
  • Develops tactical approaches for managing specific compliance projects
  • Implements technology solutions for environmental data management
  • Creates business strategy for upcoming environmental regulatory requirements
  • Collaborates with regulatory agencies to advance strong relationships and resolve environmental enforcement actions
  • Supports internal teams by providing advice on policy developments and the proper application and interpretation of applicable environmental laws and regulations
  • Assists in the development and review of internal Environmental, Social, and Governance reports and metrics
  • Leads development of policies and procedures to ensure awareness and compliance with environmental requirements and to develop implementation strategies for policies, procedures, permits and environmental requirements
  • Coordinates responses, reports, and negotiations with federal, state and local environmental agencies
  • Provides input related to environmental expenditures for functional or geographic area and controls assigned budget
  • Develops and oversees environmental training and provides direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance
  • Fulfills people leader responsibilities including hiring, staffing and firing decisions, employee training and development, performance evaluation and issue remediation, and budget planning and control as well as creating a culture of respect where diversity and inclusiveness are valued
  • Performs other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or a similar degree field
  • A minimum of 15 years related experience is required with 5 years of management experience; oil and gas industry experience required
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable federal and state air and water quality regulations is required
  • Proven ability to interact with and effectively manage input from multiple stakeholders to deliver business and enterprise goals while balancing competing strategic and tactical priorities
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to influence at a local and executive level and across a broad organization
  • Skilled communicator with desire and ability to foster an inclusive and collaborative work environment
  • Demonstrated problems solving and project management skills with the ability to adapt quickly while working with a strong sense of urgency
  • Advanced mathematical, science and analytical abilities as well as technical writing skills
  • Advanced computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience with Environmental Management Systems
Special Demands

This job primarily operates in a professional office environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, etc. Noise level is typically low. Frequently in a stationary, sitting position for prolonged periods of time. Regularly moves about inside the office to complete tasks, attend meetings or to access the copy machineor file cabinets. Periodically pulls/pushes doors open to move around the office. Occasionally may lift and carry objects up to 20 pounds.Occasional travel may be required.

Salary Range

The salary range for this job is \$139,600-\$230,300
