Job Description

GPI is seeking an entry-level Highway Engineer to join our transportation team in our Orlando, FL office. You will gain valuable experience with transportation agencies and various local governments within the region. Projects may range from small bridge replacements to large and/or complex interstate design projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Design of highways, roads, and intersections; including the development of geometric layout, grading and drainage, working with utilities, traffic control planning, and environmental permitting
  • Prepare and/or review design criteria, quantities, and estimates, drawings, and specifications
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects
Qualifications:
  • BS in Civil Engineering required with a focus in Transportation preferred
  • 0 to 3 years of experience designing highways preferred; all levels will be considered
  • EIT preferred
  • DOT and/or FL municipal clients experience a plus
  • MicroStation InRoads experience is a plus

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
  • Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails, and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
