ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Functional leadership of team including recruiting employees, assigning work, evaluating work, prioritizing work, developing team talent, mentoring/coaching, and disciplinary actions.
  • In addition to managing direct reports, you will be expected to act as an individual contributor to resolve daily issues, manage projects, and/or accomplish other assignments.
  • Plan, organize, and direct projects ensuring engineering team and other departments interact effectively and work together cohesively.
  • Work with Plant Engineering and Maintenance to define robust PM program for existing and new equipment.
  • Review CAR's and RMA's with quality engineering and supervision. Investigate and initiate corrective actions to manufacturing problems to ensure product meets quality specifications.
  • Effectively interact with all levels of personnel, including operators, engineers, managers, suppliers, customers, etc.
  • Ensure engineering department develops and maintains manufacturing processes and required documentation such as work instructions, JSAs, procedures, standard work, lock-out/tag-out, process flow/routings, labor standards, bill of materials, etc.
  • Identify and prepare approval for capital projects and major expenses. Control spending within budget.
  • Ensure new and existing equipment and processes comply with applicable safety and industrial regulations and standards.
  • Attend/perform review of near misses, safety stand downs, and safety meetings. Investigate and initiate corrective actions to resolve safety issues or near misses. Plan, organize, and direct projects to resolve safety issues through engineering controls.
  • Work with Product Engineering and R&D to ensure new products are designed for manufacturability.
  • Provide manufacturing expertise to determine efficient manufacturing processes required to produce new products, and aid in the development and implementation of these new processes.

COMPETENCIES:

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BS in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or Similar
  • Graduate Degree in Engineering, Business or similar a plus
  • 10 or more years' Experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
  • Proficiencies in standard office, business, and data analysis software
  • Static and/or dynamic seal experience a plus
  • Product development experience a plus
  • Experience with ISO 9000, QS 9000, APQP, or other equivalent quality standard
