Job Title: Native Software Engineer (iOS) - Ecommerce App

Location: Portland, OR/Cincinnati, OH/Boca Raton, FL/Chicago, IL/Charlotte, NC/San Jose, CA

Duration: Contract to Hire

Overview

As a Native Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building, enhancing, and supporting the core functionalities of market-leading ecommerce app. Your focus will be on two key areas: streamlined navigation and information delivery, as well as flexible grocery fulfillment options.

Responsibilities

Streamlined Navigation and Information Delivery:

• Craft intuitive navigation and informative components within the Ecommerce App.
• Guide customers seamlessly through the app, ensuring a smooth and efficient shopping experience.
• Implement user interfaces that empower customers to seamlessly select their grocery preferences (delivery or pickup).

Flexible Grocery Fulfillment Options:

• Develop features that allow customers to choose their preferred grocery fulfillment method (in-store pickup, delivery, or traditional shopping) directly within the app.

Technical Leadership:

• Lead the technical direction of the iOS team by making key planning and implementation decisions.
• Contribute to the team's software development efforts by writing clean, maintainable code.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.

Effective Communication and Collaboration:

• Champion strong communication practices within the team.
• Collaborate effectively with Product, Design, and QA teams.

Qualifications

• +5 years of experience with iOS development
• Proven experience as a Senior iOS Developer with a strong understanding of native iOS development principles (Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, etc.)
• Experience with iOS build, test, debug, and CI/CD tools for large-scale applications.
• Proficiency in concurrency and performance optimization (Grand Central Dispatch and Operation Queues).
• Working knowledge of architecture patterns that promote decoupling, code reuse, maintainability, and testability.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to translate requirements, wireframes, and mock-ups into reusable components and layouts.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work well both in a team and individually.

Bonus Points For:

• Experience with ecommerce app development.
• Knowledge of Accessibility and Security: Building apps that are accessible to everyone and secure from vulnerabilities.
• Passion for Mobile Development and the grocery industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to architecture standards and roadmaps.
• Implement infrastructure and middleware components per project, meeting SLA, DR, and scalability needs.
• Design and successfully implement overall infrastructure components.
• Define operational procedures, processes, and scripts.
• Provide off-hours support (24 x 7) as required.
