Job Title: Energy Manager

Job Summary:

EMCOR Facilities Services seeks an Energy Manager with 3-5 years of experience or more with energy conservation measures in commercial/industrial facilities. An undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering or technology is preferred (but not required). Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification is a plus. Applicant should feel comfortable working independently in an industrial environment and have experience in selling energy projects to upper management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform facility energy audits and have a strong working knowledge of building mechanical and electrical systems including HVAC, lighting, building controls, compressed air, waste heat recovery systems with a strong emphasis on chilled water, hot water, steam, and pumping central plant systems
    • Track energy usage - Utility Data monitoring/Benchmarking
    • Energy Conservation Measure Development - identifying, evaluating and recommending ECM's Program Management
    • Program Management
  • Design cost-effective solutions to reduce customers energy consumption, improve productivity, and improve customer satisfaction through recommended and implemented projects
    • ECM Implementation
    • Preparing estimates and proposals for energy and productivity improvement
    • Obtain incentives funds for the customer
  • Assist customer in writing capital appropriation requests and prioritizing energy and productivity improvement projects
  • Travel varies throughout the year and usually equates to + / - 25% travel per year
Qualifications:
  • B.S. in mechanical or electrical engineering
  • 3 to 5 years related experience
  • Licenses/Certifications- P.E., CEM, LEED
  • Technical Qualifications and Skills- HVAC, Lighting, Controls, Compressed Air, Central Plants, M&V
Work Environment:
  • Industrial plants, commercial office buildings, schools, healthcare facilities. 80% of work performed in mechanical rooms or on the industrial plant floor. 20% of work performed in office or classroom space
