Per Diem position, scheduled 0 hours per week (7 am-7pm) with a weekend and holiday commitment in the Emergency Department.
Trinity Health Livingston Hospital in Howell serves the health care needs of Livingston County residents. Services include an award-winning 24-hour emergency department, inpatient and outpatient surgery, including joint replacement, a variety of diagnostic and outpatient services and over 300 physicians serving patients. St. Joseph Mercy Livingston Hospital is part of Saint Joseph Mercy Health System, one of the nation's top health care services providers, spanning 5 counties in Southeastern Michigan.
This position is for an Emergency Room Technician (ER Tech) in our Emergency Department at Trinity Health Livingston in Howell Michigan. Those with ER, Urgent Care, and/or Inpatient Patient Care Tech experience are encouraged to apply.
Trinity Health Livingston Hospital's Emergency Department (ED) is available 24-hours a day, 365 days a year to care for minor illnesses/injuries, as well as major life-threatening, traumatic, medical and surgical problems. A new Emergency Observation Unit monitors patients with cardiac and respiratory symptoms with specialized care. Practice in a department that is staffed with board-certified or board-eligible emergency physicians.
EMERGENCY TECH RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Emergency Room Technician I will assist the R.N. and other ED staff in providing quality patient care by performing assigned aspects of the nursing process. This entry-level, direct patient care position, provides an excellent opportunity for learning, growth and development for those seeking to enter the health care field, or for those seeking to gain additional experience that supplements their current clinical education. Those in this position will also have access to continuing training through SJMHS to gain additional skills to assist in the furthering of career goals. The ER Tech I will be responsible to take and document patient vitals signs. They will also perform ADL's for admitted patients and for patient transport throughout the unit and the hospital. Successful applicants must be able to provide demonstrable experience performing venipuncture, IV starts and blood draws.
