The Emergency Services Outreach Leader will act as one of the principal outreach contacts externally to Public Safety associations and agencies for the purpose of education, problem resolution and general relationship building. The benefits of these relationships are establishing OnStar's operational efficiencies in supporting emergency calls, new technologies, and creating our GM and OnStar brand equity. The candidate will also support operational process/procedure development and serve as an internal public safety subject matter expert, as appropriate.

Key Job Elements:

In particular the candidate will:

  • Have a strong knowledge of the OnStar business model and an understanding of OnStar's expanding scope of Emergency and Security services and technologies.
  • Establish strategic relationships with public safety groups, with primary focus on Emergency Communication Centers, EMS, Fire and Law Enforcement.
  • As appropriate, establish relationships with the commercial counterparts to these agencies to understand alternative service delivery options and protocols to support NG911 efforts.
  • Coordinate and manage participation in appropriate conferences, seminars, meetings and other gatherings. Work with representatives in marketing, finance and external contracted vendors to ensure all appropriate arrangements are in place to support OnStar's participation.
  • Address questions and concerns both from internal and external sources regarding public safety matters.
  • Support accurate, timely and ample communication between OnStar and our emergency service partners and act as an ambassador for the company.
  • Create annual recommended outreach plans to further foster these relationships.
  • Follow-up and work with appropriate cross functional teams within OnStar to ensure that our performance and interface to these agencies follow adopted policies and processes.
  • Communicate progress and changes with these relationships to all relevant parties.
  • Support pre-launch evaluation/readiness for future emergency services and technologies, primarily in the U.S.
  • Provide input pre/post launch on emergency processes and technologies based on public safety feedback.
  • Develop and implement a NG911 roadmap for the integration of additional OnStar emergency call data to Emergency Communications Centers (ECC).

Additional Job Description

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Extensive familiarity with the public safety profession, including standard operating procedures, public safety culture, publications, and supporting public safety associations.
  • ECC leadership experience with in-depth familiarity of E911, NG911 implementation, technologies, and challenges.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Office, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Flexibility for significant U.S and Canadian travel 50-60%
  • Self-initiative to multi-task, prioritize and stay on top of issues.
  • Capability to make decisions and take leadership to resolve issues
  • Ability to operate in a fluid and semi-independent environment, proven remote working skills required.

Compensation: The median level of salary compensation for this role is $98,863.00

Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
