CHI St. Joseph Health College Station Hospital located in College Station, TX is a 167-bed facility that offers a Level III Trauma unit. Accredited as a Chest Pain Center, a certified Primary Stroke Center, and a Joint Commission-accredited joint replacement program.

We are excited to share our Winter Program for nurses during the winter season. The program seeks temporary employees to work from January 11, 2021, through April 1, 2021. This would be a 16-week assignment, and at the end of the program, you will have the option to apply for full-time benefited positions. Nurse to patient ratio is 1:1 or 1:2, depending on the unit. Our program offers two options for experienced nurses.


Option A

2 shifts / week or 4 shifts per pay period

Saturday and Sunday shift every other weekend

2 major holidays

Pay rate: $60/hr


Option B

3 shifts / week

Saturday and Sunday shift every other weekend

3 holidays

Pay Rate: $65.00/hr

In additional the traveler style pay, you will be eligible for:

  • Night Shift differential $4.40/hr
  • 401K contribution


Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering the highest quality patient care according to the specific orders of each patient's individual physician. This will involve, utilizing your knowledge and skills to educate patients and their families on prevention and healthy habits.
Additional responsibilities for this RN role include:

  • Monitoring patients' conditions and assessing their needs
  • Collaborating with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients
  • Administering patients' medications and providing treatments according to physicians' orders
  • Fostering a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families


Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years Acute Care or Critical Care experience
  • Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program
  • Active Registered Nurse Licensure in Texas (TX) or eNLClicensure with multistate privileges in good standing with the Texas Board of Nursing
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)


Expectations:

  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment while delivering quality patient care
  • Collect, read, and interpret assigned patient's health history
  • Create and implement care plans in collaboration with other care team members
  • Administer medications to patients and educate caregivers when necessary
  • Assess and treat medical and post-surgical wounds
