Description:
Embedded Linux Software Engineer (W2 only, no C2C)

SOUTHFIELD, MI

START DATE: 10-1-21

CONTRACT LENGTH: MINIMUM OF ONE YEAR

As a member of the Linux Platform team, the Software Engineer will be responsible for:

• Work closely with the Global Connectivity engineering team. Maintain an expert level of product knowledge and application on Connectivity technology

• Listen, understand, and convey customer issues and requirements to product management and development teams

• Lead the development of connectivity applications and frameworks in C/C++

• Develop and configure drivers and different OS services

• Develop and maintain Software design documents

• Analyze customer and product requirements, and develop software to meet the requirements

• Assist development groups with issue tracking and debugging

• Work closely with global test organization to develop an effect test and continuous integration strategy

Must have Qualifications:

• 3+ years engineering experience in developing applications and frameworks for embedded system running Linux

• Experience with optimizing systems/software for using minimal flash and RAM while maintaining reliable and feature rich applications

• Mastery of C/C++ language, GNU toolchain and GDB

• A solid understanding of network communications technology - Internet, Intranet, VPN, TCP/IP, Ethernet, IPv4, IPv6 etc.

• Proficiency with revision control including Git, Subversion, or equivalent

• Strong communication, Interpersonal and organizational skills

• Excellent troubleshooting skills

Good to have Qualifications:

• Experience with embedded build systems such as Yocto

• Knowledge of in-vehicle signaling and communication mechanisms such as CAN

• Experience with automotive ECU and System development

• Experience with a unit-testing framework. E.g. GTest

• Experience with Agile process

Education: B.E/ BTECH/ M.E/ MTech in Computer Science/IT, Computer Engineering or Electronics Engineering
