Job Tasks:

• Lead Electrical Techs by working with Maintenance Manager to assign PM, Breakdown, and project work to ensure all equipment is properly maintained.

• Audit work performed to ensure quality and quantity of work meets expectations

• Assist in maintaining, repairing, and planning of all plant systems including: all components of HVAC, boilers, compressed air, process water, etc.

• Be able to respond to emergency calls to keep necessary plant equipment running

• Assist in scheduling of Electrical Techs to ensure adequate coverage where needed

• Install, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on plant equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

• Install new equipment and modify existing equipment.

• Operate various types of equipment in a safe manner and report unsafe working conditions.

• Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and repairs as needed.

• Complete all necessary paperwork (i.e.: work orders, equipment logs, hot work permits, inspection forms, etc.

• Practice good housekeeping and obey all safety rules and regulations.

• Read blueprints and electrical schematics.

• Perform miscellaneous duties as required by Management and Supervision.

Qualifications:

• Technical School Maintenance Certificate or 2 years of relevant experience is preferred.

• Ability to troubleshoot AC/DC motor problems and repair/replace AC/DC motors both electrical and mechanically

• Ability to perform both electrical and mechanical PM's, which may include, DC motor brush replacement, lube system maintenance, loom PM's, plant lighting, etc.

• Working knowledge of plant systems including HVAC, boilers, compressed air, process water, etc.

• Ability to troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic controls and make necessary repairs.

• Ability to troubleshoot, repair, or replace power transmission components such as transformers, circuit breakers, starters, gearboxes, drive belts, couplings, etc.

• Ability to perform either shift electrician or shift mechanic's tasks. *Note: Hands-on verification will be required in order to make sure individual can meet safety requirements in the troubleshooting and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.

• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime and shutdowns as required.

• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for long periods of time.

• Must work in 90 degree plus temperatures and around equipment that may exceed 500 degrees.

• Must be able to do heavy lifting on a regular basis (up to 75 pounds).

• Must be able to work from ladders and aerial lifts at heights that may exceed 40 feet. Must pass aerial lift training.

• Must be able to operate lift trucks when necessary. Must pass forklift training.

• Must pass Arc Flash, Asbestos, Confided Space, hot work and bi-annual CPR/AED & First Aid certification.

• Must have an excellent attendance record and excellent communication record with peers, subordinates, and management.
