What You Will Contribute:

The Badger Meter Internship Program provides hands-on, real-world experience to students through projects that make a difference! In addition to your projects, you will be given the opportunity to participate in our robust Intern program focused on Badger Meter Culture, professional development, community outreach and a final capstone project.

Badger Meter is hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern. This position will work with a mentor to perform electrical testing, troubleshooting, and development efforts on one or more product development or sustaining engineering projects. The work will include a combination of firmware development, hardware design, data collection, and evaluation of embedded systems in any stage of product development from prototypes to field returns. The Electrical Engineering Intern will work in individual offices, electronics lab, hydro lab, and other workspaces, as appropriate.

Essential Job Duties:


  • Firmware development for an embedded microcontroller
  • Product testing, debugging, failure analysis
  • Hardware design changes to improve Engineering test fixtures
  • Collaboration with other team members to execute product design process; i.e. design reviews
  • Identify design options and develop/review verification plan and complete verification testing
  • Create reports, memos, and provide status updates to engineers, supervisors, and project teams
  • Additional projects, tasks, and/or assignments as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field (Sophomore Year completed preferred)
  • Intermediate computer/technical skills in Microsoft products
  • Intermediate skill level in C/C++ Code, Digital Circuits, and Analog Circuits
  • Basic understanding of embedded systems development tools such as Altium, SVN, compilers, IDEs, SPICE
  • Basic experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, meters, logic analyzers preferred
  • Basic experience with version control, such as SVN or Git
