Carlisle Construction Materials (CCM) is a global leader in the building materials industry. We've been around since 1917. In just the past year, our company has grown by nearly 70%.

We have an immediate need for a full-time Electrical Engineer at its Franklin Park, IL location. This position will work independently and with other plant personnel in the development of accurate electrical cost estimates, new and retrofit electrical project design, accurate specification development, assist in project supervisor and equipment start up, regular project status reports. Basic understanding of plant power distribution systems and process/machinery control systems. Provides complete and appropriate documentation for all projects upon completion.

Pay Range: $90,000.00 to $100,000.00

Primary responsibilities include:

* Develop accurate cost estimates and manpower requirements for major capital projects.
* Solicit and review competitive bids, issue purchase requisitions, assist in the coordination of equipment installation and supervisor of electrical contractors during building and equipment installation phase and start up.
* Provide training and technical assistance to plant engineering/maintenance personnel and production personnel to ensure all project goals are successfully attained.
* Travel to Carlisle and subsidiary plants, outside of the Carlisle area, in support of project planning, equipment installation, start up and training.
* Support maintenance, repair or rebuild of electrical equipment/motors and direct support of production operating needs.
* Evaluate electrical equipment operation and suggest necessary action when malfunctions occur, or improvements are needed to reach our plant KPI'S.
* Participate in planning activities and manage various plant utilities that can include chiller, air compressor, security system & fire protection system.
* Complete process and preventive maintenance work orders. Capture and communicate associated data
* Maintain plant electrical systems on equipment such as mixers, conveyors, compressors, hydraulics, motors, pneumatics, automated controls and pumps and provide improvement, capital projects.
* Install and monitor current monitoring systems, support the training of maintenance technicians.
* Calibrate controls instrumentation, establish PM programs for all equipment.
* Maintain and enhance electrical and PLC troubleshooting
* Support, train, install, maintain, repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, etc. as needed
* Assist with fabrication and modification of new and existing equipment
* Comply and participate regulatory, Carlisle, & departmental policies, procedures, & standards (PSM, safety protocols, COS)
* Work with mechanical maintenance technicians to help develop their electrical skills
* Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include:

* Ability to read and interpret industrial documents and electrical drawings
* Demonstrated knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, sensors, level controls, AC/DC drives, VFD etc.
* Working knowledge of electrical codes including NEMA, etc.
* Industrial electrical AC/DC troubleshooting skills
* Ability to identify the need for repair/rebuild industrial machinery such as motors, compressors, pumps, gear boxes, hydraulics, etc.
* Knowledge of CMMS, SAP, MS programs, programable control logic
* Demonstrated ability to utilize electrical instrumentation (megohmmeter)
* Awareness of fluid motion systems, HVAC systems, dust collection systems, robotics, metering systems, etc.
* Inter-Personnel Skills - Including the ability to be a team player. The ability to pass on information & training to others.
* Understanding of OSHA and industrial safety protocols
* Safety certifications
* Ability to operate mobile equipment safely

Education and Experience:

* Bachelor of science in Electrical Engineering
* Degree required; practical experience is insufficient to fulfill this position
* Experience working in an electrical engineering capacity in an industrial manufacturing environment
