Job Summary

This position is considered mid-career for professional environmental, health and safety (EHS) auditing and compliance consulting work. Employee will be supervised on most aspects of assignments. Overnight travel and field work will be common and required of employees in this position.

Employee will exercise some independent judgment in day to day responsibilities.

Essential Job Functions

  • Plans and implements procedures, programs, and files regulatory reports in compliance with the local, state, and federal agencies;
  • Occasional supervision of subcontractors in the field;
  • Provide assistance in developing, implementing and managing EHS policies, programs and practices;
  • Inspects organization facilities to identify applicable local, state, and federal environmental and health and safety regulations.
  • Detect existing or potential environmental, safety and/or health hazards;
  • Completes EHS reviews and hazard analysis;
  • Some report and proposal preparation;
  • Some client interaction;
  • Some budget development;
  • Exercises considerable care in following directions and various project control documents;
  • Pursue professional EHS credential (CPEA, CSP, OHST, CHMM, etc.)
  • Additional duties as may be assigned.
Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of a BS/BA degree in occupational safety, science, engineering or related discipline from an accredited college or university;
  • Professional EHS credential (CPEA, CSP, OHST, CHMM, etc.) preferred;
  • 3-7 years of experience in a related EHS position;
  • Able to read, write, speak and comprehend the English language;
  • Capable of executing physical demands associated with typical environmental field duties as verified through an annual physical examination;
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite;
  • Valid driver's license.
Skills and Abilities
  • Working knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations
  • Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.
  • Computer literate - capable of performing tasks such as: create spreadsheets; compose correspondence; manage databases; and create presentations, reports, and documents using desktop software and digital graphics;
  • Must be able to observe and record field events as they happen with care and accuracy;
  • Exhibit discretion and good judgment;
  • Able to use a variety of office equipment, such as computers, fax machines, photocopiers, scanners, and videoconferencing and telephone systems;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Detail-oriented.
