EHS Plant Specialist

Work Mode: Onsite

Location: Kohler, WI

Opportunity

The primary responsibility of the EHS isto support and lead a safe culture. Utilizing a combination of technicalknowledge, leadership and team management skill sets, the EHS Specialist willguide the team to engagement surrounding our safety culture.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBLITIES

Identifying and coordinating safety improvement plans, ensuring the continuous improvement of safety in new or existing products, processes, and procedures.

Maintaining all OSHA required programs, training, logs, records and reports.

Coordinating K&BA EHS Training Programs for upper management, supervision, hourly associates, etc. Maintaining training documents and attendance database.

Managing and maintaining awareness of supervisory accident investigation process. Suggest corrective actions and implementation schedules for changes designed to prevent future reoccurrence of injury.

Maintaining awareness of the return to work and light duty programs within the K&BA business units.

Proactively conduct hazard analysis for critical positions. Maintaining statistical analysis of associate accidents and injuries to target specific areas for Job Hazard Analysis.

Providing monthly safety reviews and targeted compliance audits.

Implementing safety related capital projects, including the evaluation, justification, ACT preparation and follow-up.

Working with Corporate EHS and Kohler Medical staff to evaluate lost and restricted work days, etc. and recommend improvements.

Working with Corporate EHS (workers comp) to evaluate workers compensation claims and assisting with establishing reserves and claim closure strategies.

Leading environmental compliance for air, wastewater, and solid wastes. Provide associate awareness training as needed.

Conducting industrial hygiene sampling quarterly, and annually.

Overseeing the BBS Program and working with the BBS coordinator on initiatives, observations, and BBS related projects.

Coordinating and presenting monthly safety meeting topics for upper management, supervision, hourly associates, etc.

Facilitating EHS Awareness Programs, EHS events, and the Safety Committee meetings to help drive zero injuries in the workplace.

Lead safety projects to on time, on budget completion.

Demonstrate true ownership of safety by leading by example and communicating project status to management and floor associates.

Skills/Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering, safety, or a related field.

Knowledge of OSHA, ANSI standards, and EHS government standards.

Minimum of 2 years' experience in a manufacturing setting.

Be able to quickly formrelationships across all levels of the organization.
