Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for an Electrical & Instrumentation/Controls Construction Manager to work on a project site in Houston, Texas. The E&I/C Construction Manager role will be overseeing a major component of a large modularization project at a client site. This includes responsibility for safe delivery, ensuring that quality, schedule, and cost targets are met and for managing the associated risk. Responsible for delivery of project to agreed specifications, for managing change and customer relationships, and ensuring appropriate reporting and governance is adhered to and controlled.

Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required

Project Execution

  • Reviewing planned activities for constructability, providing accurate feedback
  • Providing technical expertise and guidance on all construction related activities
  • Ensuring safety, quality, and environmental responsibilities and accountabilities have been defined and communicated to workers engaged within their area(s) of control
  • Accountability for supervising, organizing, and coordinating head office, site construction and commissioning teams to provide high quality support in accordance with the contract
  • Works with engineering in the design phases to influence the design for optimum constructability


Skills / Qualifications

Knowledge, skills and experience:
  • Appropriate level of field E&I/C construction experience, typically gained through a minimum of 15 years of post-qualification experience in a relevant industry
  • Exposure to working within a technical environment
  • Experience of people management in a construction context
  • Good standard of general computer literacy

  • Display both good judgment and leadership qualities
  • Ability to work with timeline/targets
  • Ability to be assertive and drive culture change when required
  • Excellent interpersonal organizational, communication and team building skills
