Dura-Line is currently searching for a highly strategic Commodity Buyer to manage the category sourcing and supply strategies in our US & Canada manufacturing sites. In this NEW role, you will lead category sourcing direction for all resin purchases in PE (Polyethylene), PVDF (Polyvinylidene Fluoride), LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen)and guide US and Canada plants on polyethylene resin allocation based on supporting corporate sourcing goals for optimal output and savings.
We are looking for an engaging and driven individual with multi-site experience who has a deep understanding of suppliers, markets, products, and supply chains to partner with suppliers through strategic plan development and can aggregate North American resin volumes and effectively communicate allocations to each plant. Knowledge of the Global polyethylene market is essential in this role to identify & develop arbitrage opportunities, prepare the weekly market analysis to be discussed with the commercial team to assist in pricing strategies, and proactively identify and obtain savings.
In this exciting remote position, you will be a driven force in identifying ways to minimize the cost of supplies & maximize the service through managing relationships & performance of suppliers and developing partnerships that support the client's need. You will need a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or any other related field and a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment managing procurement projects where you were responsible for reducing cost, ensuring continuity of supply, and sourcing from suppliers. You must have prior experience in commodity resin procurement and be able to read and understand technical data sheets (TDS).
What will you be doing?
- Maintain the taxonomy of the global supplier database and classify new suppliers added to the vendor database.
- Drive resin savings initiatives and source, negotiate and coordinate all resin contracts and agreements.

Collect and analyze global spend, identify and recommend opportunities for cost savings
- Evaluate Global Market Trends for resins by reading and interpreting various market indexes, maintain relationships with suppliers, anticipate and evaluate market dynamics to ensure Dura-Line obtains competitive cost.
- Maintain reports as required, create RFP's, analyze data to support the departmental goals for savings tracking, resin consumption, and cost analysis.
Great
teamwork skills are key in this role! You will be collaborating with the production manager and R&D to identify opportunities to increase & maintain the quality of material that meets the requirements set by Dura-Line. Outstanding
communication and influencing skills are needed to drive results through others, foster
global supplier relationships, and work closely with the SIOP team to maintain an uninterrupted supply of material.
You will be responsible for documenting information that will be standardized and used globally, so you must be
computer savvy with the ability to utilize Microsoft Office and have at least 2 years of recent experience utilizing a material management module that includes procurement. ERP experience utilizing programs such as
SAP is required as you will be responsible for creating purchase orders if needed as well as set up and maintain material master planning parameters in SAP related to
MOQ, lead times, safety stocks, and information records.
