University Advancement professionals build various levels of support and affinity for the institution through a coordinated effort as part of the university's primary outreach to the community and region. This includes building support and funding through community engagement and alumni outreach efforts, attendance at key events, representation on important initiatives and the creation of partnerships supporting the university's mission.

The Donor Relations Program Manager has primary responsibility for developing and implementing strategies to support positive donor relations throughout the continuum of the donor experience. This position will be an integral contributor to the philanthropic priorities of the campus including campus-wide stewardship and leadership initiatives. The position will initiate and facilitate positive and mutually-rewarding relations between the University and its donors through consistent and productive engagement. The position will work in partnership with campus leadership, the development team, major gift officers, alumni and annual giving staff as well as campus constituents.

Responsible for implementing the overall donor relations strategic plan and the execution of initiatives that create systems, procedures, activities, events, and strategies that positively impact the many stages of the donor life cycle. This will include:

    Executing campus and targeted stewardship engagement outreach; Working cross-campus to cultivate a culture of philanthropic appreciation; Analyzing opportunities within donor pipeline to develop initiatives, recognition, events, etc. that aid leadership and development officers in the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors in order to attain fundraising goals; Coordinating with the annual fund outreach efforts; Utilizing data resources such as Advance, Salesforce, Marketing Cloud and Cvent to assist constituent communication; Developing analytical reports and templates to communicate outcomes; and, Supporting and coordinating special events.

This position requires strong attention to detail, creativity, resourcefulness, ingenuity, strong diplomacy, flexibility customer service and a can-do approach. The Donor Relations Program Manager will report to the Alumni and Donor Engagement Director and will work closely with development staff and UCCS leadership.

Examples of Work Performed


    In consultation with the Alumni and Donor Engagement Director, develop, foster and implement the strategic direction of university-wide and strategic Chancellor-level donor relations by collaborating with advancement colleagues as well as campus, system and foundation units Work in partnership with members of the development team to support individualized donor relationship activities with special attention to stewardship for the University's most generous donors to ensure they are engaged in and informed of the impact of their philanthropic support. This includes, but is not limited to contributing towards fund development initiatives, the project management and execution of unique stewardship events, milestone recognition, writing and production of ad hoc personalized impact reports, and production of bespoke gifts Achieve individual donor outreach metrics including personal visits, calls, referrals and proposal assists. Oversee timely gift acknowledgement process for all major gifts and gifts including writing for the Chancellor/Sr. Vice President of Advancement, in collaboration with the development staff, including acknowledgement letters, development event speaking points, and other special projects as needed Responsible for managing and implementing current and future donor recognition programs and events, including the Main Hall Society, Annual Donor Dinner, and similar University-wide philanthropic functions. This includes planning and executing overall strategy, organizing special events, coordinating and executing communication strategies, and working effectively with relevant team members. Reviews effectiveness of program and makes suggestions for modification and improvement Serve as a resource for best practices in recognition and naming standards, processes, and procedures for school-based development and stewardship across UCCS's schools, departments, and programs Partner with the Advancement team to develop and execute written cultivation, solicitation and stewardship plans to assist in enhancing the donor experience Performs administrative tasks, which may consist of composing and maintaining external lists, internal documents and processes Utilizes appropriate databases and systems to track and review donor relations program management outcomes and effectiveness with leadership and team members Work in collaboration with the CU Foundation and System Advancement on broad-based recognition of donors including President Office initiatives, multi-campus strategies and programs that have legacy connections, including endowments Provide supervision, training, and professional development for donor relationship positions Expertly utilize donor database Advance/CU Ascend and similar systems for record maintenance, mailing management, and development of reports to assess/develop donor and other fundraising strategies Performs constant analysis of donor relations strategy and adjusts to maximize impact Provides team with reports and statistical data to keep the team informed and accountable on impact/goals Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    Expert ability to establish and enhance interpersonal relationships, including ability to coordinate and manage volunteers Expert communications skill both oral and written Demonstrated ability to manage numerous complex tasks simultaneously; anticipate and meet deadlines; use time effectively; problem-solve independently while keeping key parties aware; and function in a quick turn-around environment Experience dealing with high profile and high net worth individuals with a focus on enhancing the donor experience Solid ability to exercise a high degree of diplomacy, discretion and collaboration with all levels of constituents. Comfort engaging with and guiding individuals in leadership roles Solid knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database management software Solid ability to effectively manage third party relationships Personal computer proficiency required, especially as related to the software referenced under "software utilized" (see below). Computer skills may be subject to testing/verification Able to work well in a team environment, handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines Proficient at managing budgets and limited resources to achieve maximum positive impact Ability to manage and motivate direct reports as well as inspire colleagues to achieve desired results

YOU HAVE:
    Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution 4 years relevant experience in customer or donor relations 2 years experience with Microsoft Office Products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; database management software and CRM programing. (Advance and Salesforce preferred) Available to work nights and weekend, work is expected on occasion

YOUR WORKPLACE:

You will have the option to work partially remote or fully on campus, as determined by your supervisor. Temporary or permanent on-campus workspace will be allocated based on your work schedule.

You will generally be expected to work Monday through Friday 8 AM-5 PM MT. However, you may coordinate a flexible or alternate work schedule through your supervisor.

YOUR PAY:

The anticipated hiring range for you: $45,756 – $ 59,040 The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training. This salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
