We are looking for a fun, hard working person to join our Supervisory - Training team in Ruth's Marketplace Dining facility. If you want to make good money with amazing perks and benefits, apply now! This position is a 9 month, fully benefit-eligible position with summers off! The starting pay is $16.00 per hour and the hours are Monday - Friday from Noon - 8:00 p.m.

Specific responsibilities:

Manage to rinse, stack and put dishes through dish washer keeping up with the speed of the dishes coming into the dishroom on the conveyor belt. Wash and store all dining room and catering dishes. During the busiest times, continue to stock areas in Ruth's Marketplace, to keep dishes and flatware stocked during meal service, which serves over 1,000 per meal. Perform duties in the five stations-window position, spray station, push station, take-off station and the extra person station. This position works over large three compartment agitator sinks continuously washing large sheet pans, pots, utensils, and various other dishes. - 70%

Be an active member of the daily staff 2pm huddles; offer suggestions for improvement as well as share ideas for dish room area. - 5%

In large pot and pan agitator sinks, wash, rinse, sanitize many large pots, pans, utensils. Put away all pots and utensils in the proper storage location. - 10%

Load dishes and flatware into proper cleaning racks. - 5%

Assure that the dish racks are positioned correctly onto the conveyor system. - 5%

Remove and store dishes according to policy and procedure. - 5%

Perform additional duties as assigned and attend College required training. Regular attendance is required. Work in a manner that is aware of personal safety and the safety of others and observes safety, health and sanitation codes, regulations, or practices required by the College or governmental authority.

Supervision Exercised Over:

• There are 2 non student dish room positions that work simultaneously in the dish room. Both positions direct the work flow of 3-5 students during their shift; these positions have minimal oversight by Assistant Managers working in Ruth's Marketplace; this position is in a room unseen mainly by the main work space, therefore are on their own during the majority of their business pushes. These positions are expected to be in charge of the activity in the space and keep the operation running smoothly throughout their shift.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
Education -

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience and Credentials -

• 2 years experience in institutional or retail food service industry.

• Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse campus environment or commitment to do so as an employee of St. Norbert College.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities -

• This position must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment. This is similar to a fast paced manufacturing line where dishes are coming into the dish room on a conveyor belt with no break; the ability to work very quickly scraping, stacking and rinsing dishes is crucial.

• This is a fast paced environment and the space is damp and can often be warm.

• Ability to interact professionally with coworkers and customers, particularly in conflict situations.

• Ability to talk politely and resolve customer service issues.

• Ability to multitask, meet specific deadlines, and prioritize tasks and assignments.

• Skilled at setting a good example for others.

• Ability to concentrate and focus in a noisy damp, warm, fast paced environment.

Equipment Used:
Must be able to use computer to use the time clock software; must be able to remove conveyor belt for cleaning, must be able to troubleshoot minor problems with dish machine, checking tanks water levels, change soap dispensing, etc.

• This position works in a damp, hot, and fast moving environment. This position must be physically able to move very quickly at the conveyor window to keep up with dishes coming in. This position is standing 7.5 hours per day. Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 25 lbs frequently with occasionally up to 50 lbs.
