Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

The Director-Strategic Sourcing position will focus on charting a path that will enable transformative supply changes to deliver value for internal business partners across several areas including Construction, Facilities and Professional Services within the Indirect spend categories. Director will oversee a transactional team of purchasing admins in the Construction area and will be a part of the Leadership Team. This position will collaborate with other business partners / stakeholders on various projects and will focus on creating and implementing category strategies to reduce spend and enable speed to market in a variety of indirect spend categories. The ideal candidate must have a bias towards execution, have excellent communication skills must be willing to challenge the status quo. Candidate must be comfortable leading an uncharted area with some ambiguity. Requires a high level of strategic and analytical thinking, project management, and organizational skills. The Director has 12+ years of Strategic Sourcing and Category Management experience and must be able to drive projects from start through completion.

Some Essential Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Develop extensive market knowledge and deep understanding of the assigned industry.
  • Develop category strategies to increase our innovation pipeline, drive cost savings and influence industries to transform themselves.
  • Identify new technologies and solutions for internal business partners
  • Lead all aspects of the sourcing process from end to end including RFIs/RFPs, bid analysis, supplier negotiation, and commercial contracting
  • Determine structural changes to pursue that will deliver value over next 3 years. Planning is a core aspect of the role.
  • Manage overall strategic supplier relationships including supplier performance (KPIs), capability development, cost and quality improvements for key suppliers and product categories
  • Drive Village wide programs including Supplier Diversity & Sustainability
  • Perform spend analysis and develop a sourcing roadmap focused on cost savings, speed to market, process improvement, and new opportunities
  • Collaborate & influence internal business partners within the field and Central Business Office leaders
  • Work independently to balance multiple tasks and competing priorities simultaneously

The Minimum Qualifications for this role are:

  • Bachelor's degree / Masters degree with 12+ years business experience
  • Experience in whitespace or Indirect areas including services - Construction, Facilities & Professional Services
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. The position requires interaction with teammates in various departments and with supplier partners
  • Experience developing and implementing category strategies
  • Experience leading & executing RFPs and competitive bidding processes
  • Strong strategic mindset and analytic skills - ability to work with large amounts of data to drive to strategic decisions.
  • Excellent computer skills in Excel, PowerPoint & Word

Salary/ Wage Range

$100,100.00 to $147,000.00

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
