About this Role:

As the Director, Supply Chain Field Training you will oversee a team of training managers and site training leads across the country working in our Sam's Club fulfillment and distribution centers. You and your team will be responsible for executing and implementing learning and training programs across hourly and salaried associates. The learning programs you execute will span across the associate life cycle, including: day one orientation, functional job training, leadership development, and more! You will partner with a variety of home office teams, people partners, and business leaders to ensure that learning programs meet the associate and business needs, delivering results by reducing turnover, improving safety, and creating a member-obsessed culture.

Job Description

  • Provides overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs; developing, communicating, building support for, and implementing business strategies, plans, and practices; analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; determining and supporting resource requirements; evaluating operational processes; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; promoting a customer environment; and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning.
  • Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning; and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent.
  • Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices; developing consequences for violations or non-compliance; and supporting the Open Door Policy.
  • Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals by sponsoring and leading key community outreach and involvement initiatives; engaging key stakeholders in the development, execution, and evaluation of appropriate business plans and initiatives; and supporting associate efforts in these areas.
  • Enhances project workflow by identifying and tracking current work flow; ensuring alignment with defined goals and objectives; establishing and auditing consistent practices and standards for project deliverables; and ensuring project deliverables adhere to standardized sign off procedures.
  • Develops and leads multiple cross-functional projects by anticipating and understanding current process and value gaps; benchmarking industry best practices; utilizing multiple methodologies to leverage data in order to inform business decisions; ensuring data accuracy and credibility; managing efforts to support sustainable best practices and complex, organization-wide projects; managing expectations of program and project leadership; and adjusting approaches in response to changing business demands.
    Directs strategic development, planning, and execution of projects by leading team to drive project and business performance; leading project documentation efforts; reviewing and determining current process and value gaps and their impact on projects and company strategic objectives; identifying strategic issues and developing coordinated responses; leading the development of mitigating strategies and actions; monitoring and reporting on financial goals; analyzing budgetary needs and gaining approval; managing resources to adequately support the current and future needs; and collaborating in the development and implementation of training and communication strategies.
  • Leads current and forecasted projects by reviewing project work plans; reviewing and selecting proposed projects; ensuring project objectives are aligned with overall program goals; forecasting and managing internal project resources; identifying project milestones, expenditures, and costs against project schedules and budgets; and leading projects and communicating status to key stakeholders.
  • Creates, implements and enforces standards to control project cost, timeline, and integration by creating and following guidelines, specifications, and project objectives; setting performance requirements; revising and creating additional standards, as situations dictate, to improve project delivery; and ensuring execution of standards by all impacted functions.

Minimum Qualifications...

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or related field and 5 years' experience in business, operations, analytics, or related area OR 7 years' experience in business, operations, analytics, or related area.
3 years' supervisory experience.
4 years' project management experience.
