This is an exciting time to work at Amarillo College! We are seeking a Director of Prison Education Programs (PEP). Reporting directly to the Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Director acts as primary liaison across multiple departments and divisions at the College and the TDCJ units where Amarillo College holds academic and technical training courses/programs. In this capacity, the Director of PEP recruits and provides enrollment, financial, and student support advising to AC students on Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) units. The Director of PEP works closely with the relevant departments under the Office of Enrollment Management, the Office of Student Affairs, the Office of Business Affairs, and the Office of Academic Affairs. In order to run a high-quality program inside a prison, the Director of PEP is the primary 'go-to' for faculty and staff teams at TDCJ units where AC conducts classes by helping to organize classroom space, managing schedules and events, coordinating visits by organizing faculty/staff/AC leadership clearances, and by serving as primary liaison with AC and TDCJ Rehabilitation Program Division and Reintegration and Reentry Division, Windham School District, Unit wardens, etc.
