Over the past 10 years, Everest Insurance has steadily grown in premium size and geographic reach through its Property & Casualty insurance business. That growth has been fueled by strong underwriting and operational talent. To continue fueling our growth, we are investing in the bringing in a Director of Operations Management to oversee a diverse portfolio of work critical to the success of the North American Insurance Operation.

This role will be responsible for chief of staff functions such as: communications, operations portfolio oversite, budget planning and review, leadership routines, staffing model development and executing on a culture of continuous improvement within the North American Insurance operation. A suitable candidate is a successful, experienced, and accomplished professional with significant hands-on experience in all of the facets of the accountabilities with a proven track record of success. The individual should be a self-starter who requires minimal oversight to translate vision and strategy into execution.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Owns the development and execution of communication strategies both within North American Insurance Operations and including key stakeholder groups (Underwriting, IT, etc.)
  • Plans, coordinates, builds content/presentations/deliverables aligned to routines within Operations.
  • Works collaboratively with application owners, business SME's, underwriting and IT partners to document and communicate strategic project expectations and outcomes.
  • Owns the development and execution of project/strategic initiative work intake and reporting mechanisms partnering with stakeholder groups.
  • Acts as a catalyst for the development and execution of a continuous improvement mindset within the North American Operations organization.
  • Owns the oversight of ongoing continuous improvement portfolio and serves as a resource to teammates looking to own process improvement initiatives.
  • Acts as the owner of the North American Operations metrics portfolio, partnering with our Global partners, data, and IT organizations to document current state and drive towards aspirational goals.
  • Owns the development, execution and updating of workforce planning and demand/capacity models within the operations. Will synthesize flow volumes, average handle times and service levels to create a robust tool.
  • Serves as a resource to execute on both change management and project management accountabilities for large scale business and operations projects when warranted.
  • Partners with others across the organization to seek out and synthesize customer feedback and turn it into actionable takeaways.

Qualifications, Education & Experience:
  • At least 5 years of experience in insurance operations or similar role, preferably P&C insurance.
  • Expert level knowledge of both Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel with proven ability to translate vision into tangible action.
  • At least 5 years of experience owning and driving process efficiencies utilizing a framework such as Six Sigma, Lean, Continuous Improvement.
  • Knowledge and experience across Underwriting process and driving standardization.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects of various size and scope, inclusive of proven track record of creating engagement at Senior Leadership levels.
  • Superior communication skills and ability to interact with stakeholders across all levels of an organization.
