Compensation: $125,000 - $150,000 annually

A DAY IN THE LIFE

The Director of Operations acts as the responsible party for all aspects of regional operations including, but not limited to, culture, performance, financials, customer service, quality, training, safety and business development. Promoting and exemplifying leadership, continuous improvement, integrity, financial responsibility, and supporting a high standard for ethical conduct are key responsibilities of this position. The Director will work closely with District Managers, environmental agencies, regulatory agencies, and Senior Management of the organization in the execution of their duties. The following list of duties are responsibilities of the Director of Operations.
  • Provide support in managing and directing of air quality services for the region with an emphasis on leak detection and repair
  • Provides strategic planning, execution to enhance profitability, productivity, quality assurance, efficiency and problem resolution for the region
  • Oversee the preparation and review or authorship of letters, notifications, proposals, monitoring plans, deliverables and reports for the region.
  • Oversee the management of regulatory interpretations, client contact management, monitoring plans, reporting and consulting
  • Oversee the effective communication from management with customers and personnel on procedures, results, updates, tasks, problems and solutions
  • Understand the need and oversee the creation of operational SOPs and training material in the region
  • Collaborate with and assist other regions and departments within Montrose
  • Report routinely to Vice President on regional status
Management of LDAR Programs including Quality, Safety and Compliance
  • Drive and implement solutions for all MAQS LDAR programs and operations deficiencies and improvements
  • Partner with Management and develop systems and controls to ensure compliance with quality, training and safety standards.
  • Oversee development and completion of all required compliance inspections, quality and safety programs written in regional and client specific plans
  • Conduct field observation assessments for compliance, quality and safety
  • Ensure the schedule has a 3-month outlook
  • Ensure all projects are scheduled with the client in a timely manner
  • Oversee and review monthly utilization and identify improvements and troubleshoot
  • Review and approve or deny orders for supplies, equipment, and PPE
  • Oversee the inspection and report deadlines are met within the assigned region
  • Ensure compliance of all required rules and regulations
  • Review regional training and certification needs
  • Ensure all team members are performing required tasks efficiently, accurately and safely
Management of Employees and Career Development
  • Focuses and guides others in accomplishing work operations and objectives
  • Provide District Managers and direct reports with the tools and training necessary for growth and development of the assigned office/area/group.
  • Shares knowledge, information, advice, and suggestions to help others to be more successful. Gives employee's assignments that will help develop their knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Oversee the utilization of company resources, such as software and CRM, to help District Managers, Client Project Managers, and Field Project Managers become more efficient and skilled.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining an appropriate level of staff in alignment with current and future business strategies
  • Oversee all hiring decision, development and termination of employees for the region. Oversee the recommendation of any and all salary increases for the region.
  • Conduct and/or ensure the recruitment, hiring and onboarding of new and transitioning employees
  • Delegation of new tasks/projects to the proper qualified employee
  • Provides appropriate support and acts as a resource and establishes procedures to keep informed of issues and results of delegated responsibilities
  • Ensures current and accurate costing in conjunction with finance. Supporting Managers in the knowledge of budgets, proposals, pricing and execution of contracts. Recommends methods, materials and layouts for improvement based on needs and capabilities.
  • Develop, participate in and lead training for career development, safety and maintaining required certifications
  • Monthly review and daily tracking of personnel performance metrics with corrective actions outlined
  • Regularly meets with employees to review performance, prepares and presents to employee annual performance review and establishes personal and/or business objective SMART goals and career succession planning.
Management of Financials
  • Oversee and manage all financial budgeting and tracking of regional expenses
  • Meet Revenue, Growth, and Profit targets/goals for the region.
  • Review and analyze financial P&L monthly.
  • Biweekly review of expenses. Analyze, document and report errors and improvements
  • Finds creative ways to solve fiscal problems, create efficiencies and manages labor and overtime
  • Review and oversee time and expenses for completeness and accuracy and approve or deny timely
  • Review and provide weekly, monthly and quarterly forecasting for the region
  • Ensure timely invoicing of time and expenses of location
  • Manage staffing utilization efficiently and within budgetary parameters
  • Oversee all capex orders for the region
Management of Growth and Retention
  • Strategize and identify business development opportunities for LDAR and other business linesof Montrose
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by monitoring the NPS Score monthly and communicating with clients on needs and improvements, making performance changes when necessary, and by sharing results with the Senior Management Team.
  • Ensure overall client satisfaction by assisting the District Manager(s) and Client Project Manager(s) in offering operational improvements and efficiencies, enhance their environmental image, and avoid overall penalties.
  • Conduct, prepare and/or review bid walks, cost estimates and proposals for accuracy and profitability ensuring alignment with budgetary expectations and business objectives
  • Review with client routinely on customer service needs and improvements
Leadership
  • Responsible for exemplifying and instilling in their team the Montrose culture. Promoting a positive and collaborative working environment.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • High School diploma and/or degree in related field
  • Advanced knowledge in LDAR related hardware and tools preferred
  • Advanced knowledge in applicable Federal, State and Local LDAR regulations
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
  • 2-5+ years minimum of LDAR experience
  • 2-5+ years minimum in a supervisorial role
SYSTEMS
  • Intermediate knowledge with Google and Microsoft office Suite products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Experience with Workday is beneficial
  • Advanced knowledge with LDAR database software programs is beneficial
LICENSURES/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
  • Valid Driver's License is required
  • Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC) is beneficial
  • State/Region applicable Safety Council Training is beneficial
  • Refinery Safety Overview (RSO) training is beneficial
  • First Aid and CPR Certified is beneficial
SAFETY/DRUG SCREENING
  • Capability to pass background checks and initial and random drug screening
  • Must be able to successfully pass a urine, alcohol, and hair drug test
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders and work from heights
TRAVEL
  • Ability/willingness to travel locally and overnight 10-25% of the time
