Job Description Summary
The Director of Fiscal Operations at the Center for Cellular Immunotherapies (CCI) and Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy at Penn (PICI@Penn), reporting to the Executive Deputy Director, will provide leadership and direction over all fiscal and administrative operations for CCI and PICI. The Center for Cellular Immunotherapies (CCI) is a Type II Center at the University of Pennsylvania's Perelman School of Medicine (PSOM) and currently maintains over 200 faculty and staff representing a highly complex matrix organization. This position also supports a highly visible program whose novel cellular immunotherapies have attracted international interest from pharmaceutical companies, biotech companies, foundations and patients.
The Director of Fiscal Operations is responsible for helping to implement both short and long-term strategic financial and administrative planning and fiscal policy development for CCI and PICI and to ensure financial and administrative compliance. Fiscal responsibilities, for this highly complex organization includes but is not limited to, directing and managing of general financial administration, sponsored research programs, HR, clinical trial programs, GMP facility and 3 service centers. This position is responsible for the financial management of all CCI and PICI including, preparation and monitoring of total annual operating budgets, reporting and forecasting revenue and expenses, accounting, purchasing, facilities and common equipment budgets and general administration. Annual operating budget of over $50M including NIH, Foundation, Pharmaceutical, Biotech, gifts and endowment, EVPD and SOMD funding.
The program is extremely complex, as it includes both traditional basic science grants management as well as creation and management of complex combined clinical and research budgets, and the coordination of these budgets with the implementation of patient care in a large- scale clinical setting.

Qualifications:
BA/BS and 7 to 10 years of strong, progressively responsible experience or an equivalent combination of education is required. Candidate must have supervisory experience preferably in an academic setting. Sponsored Research Administration experience in an academic environment is a must.
Candidate must demonstrate strong leadership and managerial skills, excellent verbal communication skills, and strong analytical skills. Proficiency with standard IT applications including spreadsheets, word processing, and databases preferred. Must be independent and self-motivated
