In partnership with the UC Health academic healthcare system and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, College of Medicine's faculty are transforming the world of medicine every day.
Hoxworth Blood Center (HBC) is seeking a Stem Cell Transplant/Cellular Therapies Medical/Processing Facility Director. This is an open rank, open track, faculty position but is expected to be at the Associate Professor or Professor rank. HBC and the UC-CoM offer many opportunities for collaborative clinical and basic research, an active clinical trials program in stem cell transplantation and immunotherapies supporting four different transplantation programs in Ohio.
HBC is the only Regional Blood Center owned and operated by a University in United States and only provider of GTP cell therapy products in Cincinnati. The HBC Academic Unit of the UC-CoM is expanding an existing research program with aiming to excel in basic, translational and clinical investigation of the cellular, molecular and biochemical basis of blood physiology, transfusion medicine, immunotherapies, gene therapy and immunotherapies. Candidates with expertise in hematology, hematopoietic biology and therapy, immunology and/or immunotherapies are encouraged to use this opportunity to build a translational/clinical research program.
HBC is located within the Academic Health Center campus and has established connections with world-class research departments that support a highly collaborative biomedical research environment and a special partnership relationship with Cincinnati Children's Research Foundation (CCRF) and the Innovation Hub of the University of Cincinnati. HBC, the UC-CoM and CCRF offer access to a wide variety of shared core facilities, including animal facility, state-of-the-art flow cytometry, high-resolution microscopy cores, GMP-compliant research spaces and access to the HBC enterprise blood donor resources providing candidate faculty with an exciting opportunity to engage in collaborative cutting-edge research in transfusion, cell therapies and regenerative medicine.
