Leading a dedicated team, the Director of Accounting Transformation and Shared Services will drive a portfolio of transformational change initiatives related to growth and service priorities. This role provides direction and vision of strategic objectives while partnering with business, technology and project teams to drive the initiatives. This role will also provide thought leadership and process excellence to transform shared services and accounting. Help develop the core competencies for shared services focusing on driving improvements in processes and systems, ultimately leading to improved working capital. In addition, this role will serve as an integration leader to determine how new acquisitions will operate from an accounting perspective, including the transition of teams, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of 3 direct reports and 12+ indirect reports
  • Independently plan, lead and execute multiple complex finance, shared service, accounting and reporting projects collaborating effectively with other cross-functional teams globally. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, specifically around processes and systems, collaborating with stakeholders (finance and non-finance) and functional colleagues
  • Quarterly reporting to executive leadership on metrics of core competencies and progress of improvement projects
  • Ensuring an appropriate control environment, and adherence to SOX, while driving operational efficiency across shared service functions, strengthening process and control environment, and providing ongoing leadership and functional oversight
  • Support stand-up of transformation and integration function, including further development and execution of finance, accounting and shared service integration approaches and strategies for future deals/projects
  • Coordinate and oversee general close functionality for automated and systemic accounting items, including intercompany, prepaids, and payroll accounting
  • Coordinate and oversee the global leases portfolio. Work with the external reporting and technical accounting senior manager to review lease contracts and determine technical accounting conclusions. Become a subject matter expert for leases system tool and serve a key role in enhancing the tool for Accounting Team
  • Work with Operations to manage fixed assets, including aligning fixed asset systems and processes globally to align with local and US GAAP, including asset capitalization timing and useful life determination. Implement and monitor fixed asset budget processes, including approvals, tracking of actual spend, and historical look back for invested returns subsequent to capitalization.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA, MBA and/or CMA preferred
  • Minimum 12 years of increasingly progressive accounting, shared service, and continuous improvement roles in a large multi-location company
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience with demonstrated success leading teams and developing accounting and shared service professionals

The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
