Description: Our client is currently seeking a Director, Market Access

This role is responsible for developing and delivering an integrated commercial market access vision and plan across all reimbursement / access strategies: Commercial Health Plans, Medicaid, Medicare, PBMs, IDNs, GPOs, SPs and Home Infusion segments while working in a matrixed organization with cross member support.

This job will have the following responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver an integrated commercial market access vision and plan across all reimbursement strategies: Commercial Health Plans, Medicaid, Medicare, PBMs, IDNs, GPOs, SPs and Home Infusion segments.
  • Develop market access product launch planning communication tools and initiatives with market access marketing and market access training.
  • Build an access platform to launch incremental medical benefit-infused therapies. Cold chain, and ultra cold chain handling requirements, and identifying efficient infusion sites to maintain and grow access.
  • Build a site of care strategy to ensure access to nursing, infusion chairs, and payers policy via coding crosswalk, payer value proposition, and GPO contracting.
  • Collaboratively evaluate site of care issues develop contracting strategy to expand product access, secure nursing and add infusion capacity with potential; HOPD, infusion clinics, home infusion, and GPO opportunities.
  • Develop office billing/coding tools and physician reimbursement education for high-priced Orphan infusible procedural-based therapies in the Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD)market.
  • Build and foster business relationships with market access Key Opinion Leaders, MA Associations (PCMA, AMCP, Asembia, EMPA, NHIA etc...)
  • and State Societies.
  • Assist market access marketing in creating marketing communication tools designed to drive market access product & and disease state education with channel customers and their specific stakeholder roles in alignment with corporate brand positioning and corporate strategy.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of commercial health plans; Medicare Parts A, B, C & D, as well as FFS & Managed Medicaid, VA, and DoD.
  • Collaborate with Market Access Marketing and other internal teammates to inform & and produce ethical and customer-oriented reimbursement communication tools and resources for current products and new product launches.
  • Collaborate with Market Access Marketing around market access training, agency management of contracts/agreements, and affiliated supporting budgets designed to train CADs/NADs & DPAs around channel insights, stakeholder roles, and account management skills.
  • Work closely with Market Access Marketing, Commercial Operations, CADs/NAMs/DPAs, and field sales staff to provide insights on relevant; reimbursement, payor, managed care messaging, and problem solving.
  • Collaborate with market access operations to communicate market access insights to various internal management, committees, and groups.
  • Collaboration with the medical team on HEOR & Value Based Contracting strategies and coordinate payor insights with medical.
  • Work extensively with, and understand the importance of, key internal constituents - Market Research, Medical Affairs, Sales Analysis, etc. as it pertains to market access opportunities to ensure efficiency and patient access. Comprehensive experience in the launch of high price, medical benefit (infusion) / procedure-based products additionally orphan and pharmacy benefit experience is a plus.
  • Experience with building strategies for manage care coverage, coding and reimbursement processes and/or policy.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret regulations, legislation, rulemaking, policy advisory opinions and stay within legal guardrails
  • Provides timely response to customer requests per defined expectations.
  • Demonstrated ability to create appropriate customer relationships built on trust in both clinical and non-clinical groups
  • Negotiation skills, business acumen, and analytical ability, negotiating with payers, IDN's and GPO's
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication and presentation skills,
  • Strong project management skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize with clear deliverables across multiple customers in tight timelines
  • Self-motivated, with excellent organizational skills, with ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Demonstrated effectively worked in a multi-cultural, global team environment.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Minimum of bachelor's in science or arts or the equivalent; MBA or advanced degree is preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of pharmaceutical/bioscience or related experience with product launch experience -- progressive market access experience in the pharmaceutical industry with 5 years in management-level positions with increasing responsibilities. Market Access experience for rare diseases is a plus.
  • Ability to travel and use team web meeting platforms to meet job description expectations.
