SUMMARY:

This position will be responsible for leading the Project Management Office for the Joint Venture Program, with an emphasis on developing integrated project plans and associated PM artifacts, monitoring implementation execution progress, and delivering reports to executive leadership. This role is also responsible for supporting the Project Management Office for strategic projects and initiatives to support JV Program growth and expansion. This role will report to the Managing Director of JV Operations and Emerging Markets PMO.

RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS:

  • Oversee the execution of JV implementation efforts and highly strategic projects that have significant implications for our JV strategic plan and financial targets. These projects have significant visibility with Executive leadership and require leadership to support the following type of activities:
    • Establish program management structure, including Steering Committees and oversight
    • Facilitate executive level discussions and comfortably engage executives to support strategic and tactical objectives of the business
    • Frame business objectives and targets associated with program efforts and work; able to organize teams and drive new efforts (where there is a lack of formal structure and/or existing business processes are not evident)
    • Lead development of integrated project plan in collaboration with Work Track Project Managers (PM) including detailing project activities and defining dependencies ensuring all activities are captured and delivered
    • Oversee program metrics/ KPIs to ensure satisfactory program progress
    • Support SWAT initiatives, lead projects, and generate performance metrics and reporting
    • Coordinate with JV Program leadership, work track PMs and leads to identify and resolve issues including:
      • Track and escalate issues/ risks / action items to receive resolution.
      • Project Analysis
      • Recovery Planning
      • Recovery Monitoring
    • Work cross functionally across the organization to drive delivery; spokesman and representative for the business -- supports education of business objectives, drives structure, and works behind the scenes to get alignment, proactively anticipate issues, and foster communications across team.
    • Begin preparing for change and establish a collaborative, communicative environment
    • Implement process improvement initiatives that help standardize ongoing tracking and improve overall efficiency
    • Compile status reports accurately and timely with the appropriate level of detail for team, leadership, and executive updates

DIRECTION EXERCISED:

Directly supervises exempt staff in accordance with company policies and applicable Federal and State Laws. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, effectively interviewing, hiring, terminating, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and counseling employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; supporting and encouraging the engagement process

EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare administration or related field required. Master's Degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of five (5) years related technical experience, including three (3) years of project management experience is also required. Previous experience in the insurance industry including Medicare is a requirement.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED:
  • Strong understanding of insurance markets, including Medicare
  • Ability to work in time sensitive / rapid pace environment with shifting priorities and high exposure to Senior / Executive Leadership team
  • Understanding of the Medicare Advantage marketplace and industry trends impacting the business
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills; ability to take loosely formed ideas and information related to strategy and capabilities and drive formalization of related deliverables (e.g. strategic plan, capabilities matrix, annual planning efforts, etc.)
  • Analytical skills -- able to support identification of data needed (e.g. numbers / facts / figures) to enhance messaging and support research (organize data, develop charts, tables, etc.)
  • Must demonstrate leadership ability and team building skills to effectively supervise professional and non-professional staff and interact with all levels of management.
  • Managerial experience / ability to lead, motivate and cultivate a junior team (including virtual management of teams)
  • Ability to work with and empower others on a collaborative basis (manage in a matrix) to ensure success of unit team (including virtual management of teams)
  • Ability to develop templates or organize data / storyboard discussion objectives and information needed
  • Ability to effectively exchange information, in verbal or written form, by sharing ideas, reporting facts and other information, responding to questions and employing active listening techniques.
  • Ability to effectively present budgetary and/or cost information and respond to questions as appropriate.
  • Ability to establish workflows, manages multiple projects, and meets necessary deadlines.
  • Ability to think cross functionally and broadly about the business
  • Microsoft suite with an emphasis on PPT, Excel, Word and Project; ability to communicate and synthesize data for executive leadership review and consumption
WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards.
