As part of the Global Communications Team, the Director of Global Corporate Communications will drive a global internal and external communications program that will support and accelerate the Materion business strategy. With an emphasis on internal communications tools and content delivery, you will be responsible for strengthening the corporate brand and enhancing internal and external stakeholder's understanding of Materion's vision, strategic priorities, culture and global brand. You will report directly to the Vice President of Global Communications and collaborate closely with the Global Communications team, senior leaders and global cross-functional teams.

You will serve as a key counselor to company leaders as we work to tell powerful stories about Materion to our internal and external audiences - building engagement and advocacy, articulating a company-wide strategy and helping to make Materion a great place to work, grow and succeed.

We are looking for someone who excels at working collaboratively, is creative, and is obsessed with delivering high-quality work. You will serve as manager to a Global Corporate Communications Specialist.

You Will Have the Opportunity To:

  • Leads the development of a global editorial calendar that will serve as a roadmap for strategic communications shared across all company platforms. Will direct, review and edit submitted content developed by team members and develop original content for important strategic developments.
  • Serves as a company media spokesperson and oversees the company's global social media strategy, leading and coordinating the activities of the global team.
  • Leads the corporate digital strategy, including the design and implementation of a new company website and ongoing intranet upgrades.
  • Facilitates the execution of critical executive communications activities, including large-scale meetings, videos, and leader listening sessions.
  • Coordinates global companywide marketing programs that cross multiple business units.
  • Manages multiple vendor relationships, maintaining project budgets, invoices, etc.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or related field
  • 7-10+ years professional experience working in internal communications, public relations, corporate communications, agency, or nonprofit mission-driven communications.
  • Experience working on cross-functional projects and teams, influencing and driving alignment across multiple stakeholder groups and telling complex stories in a simple and compelling way.
  • Proficiency using content management systems.
  • Experience leading large-scale projects.
  • Crisis management and Social media management experience.
  • Producing messaging and content for internal/external audiences at varying levels across an organization, including senior executives
  • The ability to turn complex information into relevant, engaging, timely and valuable content.
  • Experience with managing multiple projects simultaneously and to work autonomously including managing in-person/virtual events.
  • Experience with media production (video, podcasts) and digital platform management (intranet, blogs)
