Job Description

PURPOSE

The purpose of the Director, Global Access, Value & Economics for Digital Technologies is to partner with the Digital Technologies business unit to educate, guide, develop, and execute market and patient access strategies of Intuitive's Digital Ecosystem. This will be done via focusing on support of pre-launch development and post-launch commercialization for Digital Technologies globally as it relates to value-based care, tenders, HTA assessments, evidence development, market access, patient/physician/provider utilization strategies and potential coding/coverage and reimbursement development.

As a key cross-functional constituent in the GAVE organization, this person will work in a global/business unit matrix with teams across the Digital Technologies Business Unit, R&D, Strategy, Value Integration, Product Development, Medical and Clinical Affairs, Global Public Affairs, and Product Marketing to optimize strategy, commercialization, market and patient access to eliminate barriers inhibiting broad adoption of Intuitive's Digital Technologies and Ecosystem.

PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Position responsibilities are to:

  • Develop Intuitive business unit/product market access, value, and economic strategies, globally with focus on digital technologies.
  • Conduct and execute early exploration, value development and evidence generation plans for Intuitive Digital Technologies and Ecosystem.
  • Partner with surgeons, hospitals, and various care coordinators to conduct primary and secondary research to quantify the impact and meaningful value transfer of the ecosystem.
  • Partner with the ISI Global HEOR Team and external research partners to generate clinical, economic, and kinematic evidence to determine and demonstrate the value of targeted digital technologies.
  • Develop and implement product differentiation, value messaging and patient journey impact studies to illustrate the value of various components and in aggregate of the digital ecosystem.
  • Support tender shaping and technical responses on the evidence/value of the digital ecosystem components.
  • Develop pre-launch, go-to-market, launch, and post-launch strategies to support digital technology commercialization with the network of GAVE specialists globally.
  • Partner with GAVE Health Policy & Reimbursement & Emerging Technologies colleagues to identify and execute strategies to secure potential incremental or distinct payment to support digital technology adoption globally.
  • Partner with clinical and product engineering teams to determine and develop product development insights on value-based designs.
  • Support R&D, product development, and commercial teams to collect, interpret, and build health economic insights to inform a comprehensive market access strategic plan.
  • Support other teams by working with physicians, provider groups, HTAs, and payer organizations to educate and enrich policy discussions and decision making as it relates to digital technologies.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to R&D, Product Development, Sales/Marketing, Clinical/Medical Affairs, Global Public Affairs, and corporate leadership to create cross-functional awareness of various market access strategies as it relates to digital technologies.
  • Support efforts to develop technologies to enable integration of clinical outcomes data with data collected by the ecosystem
  • Assist with development of a data-exchange program to serve as a platform for patient registries

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS, CORE COMPENTENCIES AND SKILLS

To adequately perform the primary roles and responsibilities of this position the individual must have:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree with 12+ years' experience or an advanced degree (Masters or Doctorate) with 6-8+ years' experience in market or patient access, health economics, marketing, sales, medical affairs, or market development.
  • Extensive experience in working with various national and regional healthcare systems, provider organizations, payers, surgeons, health technology assessment (HTA) agencies, reimbursement systems and trends influencing technology adoption.
  • Ability to influence health economic analytical models and guide creation of global and country specific value dossiers to optimize market adoption.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and launching accepted value and economic "leave" behind materials for commercial teams and tender teams.
  • Proven track record as a top performer within teams. Experience working across diverse marketplaces and in an evolving healthcare environment.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, results-oriented, diverse cross-functional matrix organization that focuses on a high degree of teaming, with internal and external partners globally, yet balanced with self-directed independent effort.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint, and Tableau. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Preferred location: Remote position in the United States with easy access to a major international airport.
  • Must be able to travel at least 30% of time, sometimes including global travel.
