The University's Division of Student Affairs invites applications for the full-time, benefits eligible position of Director for the Office of Student Involvement. This position supports the academic success of students in the IWU community through providing leadership and vision for a broad range of co-curricular student engagement opportunities. IWU is seeking a student-centered educator who embraces student affairs work at a small liberal arts college, and is committed to promoting and enhancing diversity in every aspect of the student experience. In leading the Office of Student Involvement, the Director's broad position responsibilities include:

Strategic vision and oversight to the following areas: Registered Student Organizations, Fraternity and Sorority Life, Campus Activities, and Leadership Development Programming. Provide daily oversight of and facility management of the Hansen Student Center including the Hansen Student Employment Team

Responsible for the overall recruitment, selection, training and supervision of three staff members within the Office of Student Involvement.

Advise the daily operations and management of the Student Senate officers and programs; provide leadership training, teamwork development, and attend Student Senate programs and meetings.

Provides oversight to the four Interfraternity Council, four College Panhellenic, and one national co-ed Latinx organization with Assistant Director of Student Involvement. Serves as primary advisor for the Interfraternity Council and utilizes counseling and reflective advising techniques to provide academic support and personalized guidance.

Supports the transition of first year students into the IWU community by coordinating the delivery of all education based and community building programming for first year orientation including alcohol education, sexual assault awareness, and contemporary issues that impact college campuses

Provides daily facility management and maintenance of Hansen Student Center and the four fraternity chapter homes; provides supervision to the student staff (Hansen Student Employees and Fraternity House Managers).

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in student personnel, higher education administration, or related area is required

    Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in student affairs

    Demonstrated experience advising and counseling students

    Participates in senior level on-call rotation

The final candidate will pass a pre-employment background investigation.
