Job Summary

Spencer's/Spirit is looking for an experienced Merchandise Planning professional to drive sales and profit objectives collaboratively with the ecommerce and merchant teams. This includes the development of merchandise financial plans, assortment/buy plans, allocation strategies, management of inventory levels and forecasting of the business.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of Planners and Analysts.
  • Drive current business processes while developing and implementing new strategies. Partner with e-commerce, Merchandising, and Logistics teams to implement and drive change that will improve customer experience on the site.
  • Provide analysis and research to support the creation of the buy plans. Participate with merchants in assortment planning.
  • Lead all allocation strategies by providing direction and feedback to Analysts and Planners.
  • Drive current business processes while developing and implementing new strategies to move the business forward.
  • Providing Allocation and Planning systems expertise for other users. Create and coordinate potential systems and process enhancements.
  • Analyze inventory productivity and make adjustments based on business trends. Provide information to aid in topside inventory productivity and profitability. Assist buying teams in developing strategies.
  • Responsible for creating, maintaining and forecasting "Open to Buy" for department, class and key categories.
  • Organize weekly team meetings with merchants, analysts and planners to identify and react to business opportunities and changing trends. Drive business strategy sessions with Senior Executive team to present new ideas, opportunities while identifying risks.


Qualifications

Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university
  • 5+ years in progressively responsible positions within a retail organization
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory planning software and be a power user with the Microsoft Office suite, primarily Excel
