Purpose of the role:

Serve as subject matter expert on all Elsevier Education Technology products, including cloud-based and mobile solutions.

Deliver high-impact sales presentations to decision makers who range from faculty to c-suite level executives concerning Elsevier Technology, commanding the presence of the room; specialize in negotiations and closing.

Mentor and spearhead strategy for 3-4 territories of field sales representatives in the Eastern US, serving as Sales Strategist.

Assist in the training/implementation process for important technology dependent adoptions

This is a home-based opportunity reporting to the Manager, Technology Sales & Outcomes. This position requires up to 30-40% overnight travel (post Covid) during peak selling times.

Territory

Ideal candidates will reside in the Central or Eastern Standard Time Zone and will call on accounts in the eastern half of the US. Candidates must live within 30 minutes or less drive-time to a large airport.

Your responsibilities

  • Driving revenue within the Health Science Education market promoting, selling, training and supporting assessment and e-product materials to achieve annual quotas.
  • Planning and prioritizing Business Development activity while managing administrative responsibilities with renewal orders of Testing and Assessment curricular suite.
  • Assisting the aligned account owners in developing effective selling and positioning strategies to ensure pipeline velocity of key opportunities.
  • Working to devise a strategic plan for territories in assigned geography in a collaborative selling matrix with the regional management team and account owners that you will support.
  • Drive successful implementation and adoption of the solution portfolio with the customers in your territory.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to Higher Education and C-suite professionals at client universities by providing in-depth product training, support and guidance directly aligned to the curriculum.
  • Create and deliver innovative, compelling presentations on Elsevier's suite of digital products while encouraging the promotion of student outcomes with usage of Elsevier digital solutions.
  • Track sales activity, pipeline, leads, and sales cycle using Salesforce.com.
  • Forge a collaborative relationship with the Content and Product Development teams to stay informed of new trends in the marketplace and help drive ideation of enhancements to existing and new products
  • Partner with the marketing and product development groups to ensure that product solutions and materials Account Management and Business Development of a thriving territory, including commanding presentations, finely-honed negotiation skills and excellent training skills with both print and digital products.

We're seeking:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree
  • 3-4 years of sales experience in technology, higher education, and/or publishing
  • Proven track record of sales success, meeting and/or exceeding sales goals most years.
  • A passion to get the maximum satisfaction of your customers
  • Highly organized, strong digital competence, highly collaborative with a team
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills in English
  • Have used products in product portfolio, or else similar products
  • Background in customer engagement and driving customer adoption
  • A genuine interest in health science education and the integration of technology into the educational arena
  • High-energy, positive attitude and self-motivated
  • A valid driver's license with a good driving record are required.
