Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is seeking applicants for a Digital Marketing Coordinator to join our growing team of nearly 20 marketing professionals. If hired, you will work closely with writers, designers, videographers, marketing managers and others on a team that functions as an in-house marketing agency.

Job Summary
To serve as a video producer and editor for the creation of digital content for web, social media, alumni engagement, student recruitment, and advancement for the Office of Marketing and Communications in Gies College of Business.

This position will work directly with Director of Digital Media and support the team, coordinating the production of various digital communication assets, including videos, webinars, and social media content.

This position will research, plan, develop, manage, curate, and measure all informational, promotional, and brand content for the Gies College of Business;

Duties & Responsibilities

Coordination

  • Maintain production equipment.
  • Coordinate digital marketing strategy utilizing paid, owned, earned and shared channels.
  • Assist videographers with production, editing, etc.
  • Assist in social media post development and measurement
  • Plan, manage, coordinate and execute webinars that are marketing-related.
  • Develop webinar guidelines/protocol to help others determine the appropriate level of webinars.
  • Work with brand team to develop all assets for successful implementation and promotion of all marketing webinars.
  • Partner with the Analytics team to define, collect and review webinar metrics.
  • Develop and coordinate archiving of all digital assets (videos, photos, and graphics)
Production
  • Capture, create, edit authentic digital visual content (videos, photo essays) that tell stories that highlight the Gies brand.
  • Film interviews, events, lectures, b-roll as needed.
  • Participate in video production shoots as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in film/video production, cinematography, radio and television, documentary film production, photojournalism, communications, graphic design, or a closely related field to the position.
  • One year of professional work experience in areas including non-linear video editing, motion graphics, video lighting and composition, camera operation, graphics design, audio recording, video production, or a closely related professional area.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in media production or related field. Motion Graphics with Adobe After Effects; Experience or understanding of the studio environment, recording video, or webinars.
  • Experience with location video shooting; developing and maintaining digital media content at Illinois or other higher education academic environment, creating and editing documentation; participating in diverse workgroups.
  • Proficiency with audio/video tools and skills including: Video and audio editing software (primarily Adobe products); Still image editing and manipulation for video delivery (primarily Adobe products); Video lighting; Audio mixing; Basic video color correction; Green screen and other keying techniques
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong communications skills; ability to constructively assess communications processes and works to improve and advance them via video and streaming technology; strong combination of visual communications, analytical and strong storytelling and storyboarding skills, including the ability to take complex research stories and produce a video feature that is accessible to multiple audiences; understand the fundamentals of branding and brand experience; ability to work independently and as part of a team, including project management.
  • The position requires a broad and thorough understanding of videography, communications and marketing principles, strategies and tactics, particularly as they relate to video: comprehensive technical knowledge, digital storytelling, storyboarding, strong aesthetic and editorial sensibilities, the ability to work effectively with collaborators from a wide range of campus units, strong skills in managing projects and people and public speaking skills. The duties of this position require working directly with faculty, staff, students, alumni and guests, operating equipment, and scouting locations.
Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5014 - Cinematographer/Creative Video Producer position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the close of the search. Salary is commensurate with experience. Salary will be commensurate with experience, with the base salary starting at $48,000. Position may work in a hybrid home/office environment as agreed upon by supervisor.
