This posting is for the Diesel Maintenance Mechanic position. It is scheduled for 1st Shift. The base pay is commensurate with experience, ranging from $25 to $27 per hour.

  • Perform various positions as required/assigned

Description

This posting is for the Diesel Maintenance Mechanic Position in the Clarksville Growout Service Center. It is scheduled for 2nd shift: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 4 pm- 4am, Friday 4 pm- 10 pm. . Compensation is commensurate with experience and ranges from $25.40 to $27.40 per hour.

This position will perform diagnostic, preventive and repair maintenance on company heavy and light fleet vehicles and other duties as assigned.

This position is responsible to diagnose issues, adjust, repair, and perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment while complying with Department of Transportation rules and regulations, maintaining a safe work environment, and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Requirements
  • Must have 1 year of mechanic experience documented in work history or be a graduate of an applicable training program (Can be a combination of employers as long as the total is one year).
  • Must possess advanced wiring skills for lights and harnesses on vehicles.
  • Must possess welding skills. Must be able to take road service calls as needed.
  • Must be able to service vehicles. (PM1, PM2) Must be able to perform PM6 - DOT inspections.
  • Must be able to perform minor loader repairs. Must be able to perform minor motor, transmission, and rear end repairs.
  • Must be able to perform major trailer repairs. Must be able to work in cold, hot and/or wet conditions.
  • Must have a valid Arkansas driver's license with no more than two moving violations in the last two years to exclude D.U.I. (Driving Under the influence) conviction on his/her Motor Vehicle Record.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a company license.

Computer Skills: Must possess basic computer skills.

Communication Skills: Good interpersonal and communication skills are critical

Safety: Must be able to understand and agree to follow Safety Rules.

This facility accepts rehires after 365 days and only if the applicant has not worked more than two previous times for Tyson. Tyson reserves the right to require longer waiting periods or not accept rehires based on the reason for dismissal.
