*This position will be based in New York, NY, and temporarily eligible for Work from Home. When our office reopens, you will be required to work from the office Monday-Friday.

What you will be doing:

The Demand Supply Planner is part of the Supply Chain team and is responsible for all forecasting activities associated with Sales and Product. The ideal candidate will build and maintain forecast and demand planning models for region, and customers incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from sales, marketing, operations, product and retailer replenishment, sell-through analysis and other sources.


  • Develop demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons by analyzing historical sales, market trends, seasonality, promotions, lifecycle, customer POS, and customer projections to improve forecast accuracy

  • Perform ongoing analysis and monitoring of actual performance to forecasted plan, identify significant variances, take corrective actions, and detail key assumptions

  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, product, and finance to research and understand demand forecast drivers to ensure that current and accurate information is used for the demand forecasts

  • Review and present forecast accuracy and performance metrics to identify problems and opportunities and make recommendations for improvements to the demand plan

  • Assist and coordinate cross functional actions and tasks involved in meeting the vital timelines for new product launches, transitions and product phase-outs

  • Partner with supply planning to understand supply chain implications of forecast changes

  • Generate risk assessments and mitigation activities such as scenario planning and input into capacity analysis

  • Work closely with Sales and Operations Leadership and assist in inventory allocation to achieve/exceed service level targets

  • Support the S&OP process by distributing forecasts to sales and finance for review and discussion during the demand review meeting

  • Coordinate and lead demand review meetings to identify changes in the demand plan, to achieve consensus driven by discussion around key initiatives, significant business events, changes in promotional plans, and forecasting accuracy

  • Accurately reflect discussed changes, follow up on action items, and confirm business partners are in agreement with the new plan

  • Publish the demand plan along with a clear and concise explanation of forecast changes between cycles, key business event drivers, risks / opportunities, gaps, and assumptions to be used in the main S&OP meeting

  • Maintain demand planning system and software, enter and modify data and ensure the correctness of product hierarchy.

  • Manage history used for forecasting and ensure it is adjusted for known events and outlier removal

  • Develop tools, key reports, and provide analytical support to partners to help make decisions, develop and execute key initiatives, and project short term and long term performance

  • Complete special projects and ad-hoc requests as assigned

  • Support systems implementations and process improvement

  • Support company goals and values, process improvements, contributing to morale and team building

  • Participate in the successful delivery of company critical initiatives


Skills needed to be successful in this role:

  • Demonstrated high level of autonomy and ability to self-start

  • Ability to lead multiple projects

  • Ability to collaborate and influence cross functionally

  • Must be detail oriented, highly organized, inventive, and work well within a team environment

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including meeting facilitation and presentations


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Supply Chain or other relevant field

  • 3+ years experience in a demand planning / forecasting role

  • Sales and Operations Planning Process experience

  • Solid understanding of supply chain / inventory management practices and procedures.

  • MS office, strong excel and reporting skills

  • Experience with ERP systems

  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with demand planning / forecasting software
