Our team is seeking a Deep Foundations Lead to join our team!

Required Skills:

• Ability to interface and communicate with all levels of external and internal clients
• Capable of providing all technical expertise required to exceed client expectations
• Write reports giving professional opinions and recommendations applying standard engineering practices and techniques
• Ability to mentor and supervise engineering and field staff
• Ability to provide technical review and oversight for a variety of geotechnical engineering projects with an emphasis on deep foundations
• Ability to teach and develop training materials to build client-focused deep foundation expertise within Braun Intertec
• Ability to evaluate and provide technical review of deep foundation load and integrity testing
• Ability to develop geotechnical work scopes and prepare proposals
• Ability to maintain positive internal and external relationships

Required Experience:

• Bachelor`s degree (B. S.) in geotechnical or geological engineering (or civil engineering with an emphasis in geotechnical) from an accredited engineering university
• Master's degree in geotechnical engineering strongly preferred
• 10 + years of experience in geotechnical engineering
• Ability to obtain PE registration in MN within 6 months of hire
• Required to work out of one of Braun Intertec's current office locations

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute annual plan for our Deep Foundations Practice incorporating internal deep foundations technical development, client- and industry-facing brand development, and national growth efforts
• Develop and teach deep foundation training materials; improvement of breadth and depth of deep foundation understanding across BIC is key success metric of position
• Develop and maintain internal and external client relationships, including project and non-project related face-to-face meetings
• Prepare proposals for moderate to complex projects
• Develop and execute whole scopes
• Prepare moderate to complex engineering reports giving professional opinions and practical geotechnical solutions
• Perform engineering analysis using company and industry methodologies and standards
• Provide work direction to junior engineering staff
• Perform engineering analysis and provide recommendations that may include some or all of the following:

ASD and LRFD shallow foundation design

ASD and LRFD deep foundation design for axial and lateral loads on driven pile, drilled shafts, auger-cast pile, micropile, and helical pile, including pile groups

• Provide dynamic and static load test design, evaluation and recommendations
• Perform integrity test design, evaluation and recommendations for deep foundations
• Review geotechnical design and construction observation/testing reports prepared by junior engineering staff
• Present at conferences, clients, society meetings and/or seminars
