The Dean of the School of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences, who will report to the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, will be a dynamic visionary and transformational leader. The successful candidate will lead a family of professionals that pride themselves in working together as "One Family, Growing Scientists." As the chief academic, fiscal, and administrative officer of the School of Computer, Mathematical and Natural Sciences (SCMNS), the Dean manages office and division operations, including budgets, academic faculty, staff evaluations, faculty recruitment, retention, and workload. The Dean provides leadership for the faculty and articulates the School's vision, qualities, and distinctiveness both within the University and to external constituencies. The Dean must also be an innovative and dynamic advocate for the School and its programs among diverse groups of education, business, government, community leaders, and the general public.

The successful candidate for this position will have an earned doctorate in one or related disciplines within the School, with preference given to candidates with a proven record of teaching, research, and service suitable for appointment to the rank of full professor. In addition, the candidate will have demonstrated competence in leading and developing academic programs, promoting student success, mentoring faculty, resource development, and have experience developing internal and external partnerships to support the mission and vision of the University.
