Job Title: Day Service Technician 2nd Shift

Job Summary: Repair and maintain all facility equipment as well as perform project work and assist in snow removal responsibilities. While demonstrating a high regard for safety at all times, you will be required to work the hours necessary to support the team which may include overtime. This is a First Shift position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Changing light bulbs and fluorescent tubes, hanging pictures, changing fixtures, setting up and assembling shelving, setting up conference rooms, delivering packages and assist Maintenance Mechanics as directed. Would perform minor building repairs such as changing ceiling tiles, patch drywall, paint, minor plumbing and electrical repairs as required. Could assist in all other disciplines such as grounds and snow removal as well as other similar/incidental tasks.
  • Would operate a tow motor and or aerial lift as required. Performs all other tasks as assigned by supervision.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely paperwork related to essential duties and responsibilities. Maintain, organize, and control inventory supplies tools and equipment. Clean and organize shop area. Maintain inventory of spare parts and material. Maintain tools and equipment for maintenance work.
Qualifications:
  • HS Diploma
  • Two or more years related experience and training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be trained and certified to operate a fork truck
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Compentencies:
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions.
  • Must be trained and certified to operate a fork truck
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists Ability to interpret common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Must demonstrate and exhibit mechanical aptitude, a positive interest, be self-directed and work effectively with all facility groups.
  • Must operate a fork lift and other powered and non-powered equipment.
  • Must be able to perform tasks on a ladder.
  • Must have the ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak and communicate effectively with co-workers and supervision.
Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl: and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or lift up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Will be required to use ladders, boom lifts, scissor lifts, fork trucks and other equipment to accomplish the job.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet/humid conditions, high precarious positions: fumes or airborne particles: toxic or caustic chemicals: outside weather conditions: extreme cold: and extreme heat, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
