Data Scientist - Python, Data Modeling, PhD / Master's *Job Title: * Data Scientist
*Job Location: * Torrance, CA - *HYBRID (must be in office minimum 2 days a week)*
*Salary: * $100k-$130k DOE + Annual Bonus + 401k Matching
*Requirements: * PhD or Master's in Math, Physics, Engineering, Economics, or Data science + Python + Data Modeling

We are an insurtech company developing data science based products focused on the on-demand transportation industry. Due to growth, we are looking to add a Data Scientist to our team. MUST have a PhD or Master's in Math, Physics, Engineering, Economics, or Data science and be interested in statistical modeling.
What You Will Be Doing You will help guide the use of the data to build business and customer-facing products. You will facilitate building statistical modeling with a focus on EDA and ETL. You will code and develop tools that use ML / predictive modeling to improve our modeling and ML results and decisions.

We have daily meetings where you will share your results from your work. We are very interactive and team oriented so you must be comfortable with that!
What You Need for this Position *Must Have Skills: *
- PhD or Master's in Math, Physics, Engineering, Economics, or Data science
- 1+ yrs Data Analytics experience
- Python
- Experience in Data Modeling
- Experience in Cloud Service (AWS Preferred)
- Big data tools (Hadoop or Spark)
- SQL
- Data Visualization Tools (QuickSight or Tableau)
- Expertise on Big Data

*Nice to Have Skills: *
- Knowledge of statistical modeling, machine learning, mathematical optimization, and/or data
- Expertise in A/B Testing, and statistical analysis
- Startup experience
