Job Summary

Department-Specific Responsibilities

  • Provides business support to the Dean's Office/CTSI (Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute) key decision-makers using comprehensive knowledge of current and proposed systems to extract data and maintain integrated reporting solutions.
  • Utilizes analytical skills to build and maintain standard and ad-hoc reports to be made available to internal recipients, as well as external partners and federal agencies.
  • Represents the Dean's Office and CTSI in the school's technology activities and committees.
  • Provides insight on the usage of infrastructure systems including the web-based research collaboration tool and other software packages as adopted by the Executive Associate Dean for Research.
  • Manages Excel-based CompTracker system used to manager recovery of practice plan salary for contracts and grants. Provides training on this system and processes for educational purposes, and serve as troubleshoot support.
  • Conducts data modeling in the process of building database applications for the purpose of trend analysis and financial evaluation.
General Responsibilities
  • Provides analysis of existing data and data structures and satisfies ad-hoc reporting/analysis requests.
  • Creates reporting specifications for new reports/dashboards/analytical tools and assists in testing/validation; ensures integrity, accessibility, and accuracy of reports/dashboards and data structures; reviews and approves user requests for access to reporting data and tools.
  • Consults with faculty and/or staff to identify new business reporting needs and provides guidance and interpretation of complex environments and data.
  • Documents data analysis efforts (data sources, reporting specifications, tools, issue/problem resolutions).
  • Researches and stays up-to-date on emerging technologies and data analysis tools.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Required
  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in computer science, information science, or related field)

  • Proficiency with databases, querying language such as SQL, data modeling and business information (BI) tools
  • Familiar with IU systems such as KFS, IUIE, IU One Drive, MedNet, etc.

Working Conditions / Demands

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Additional Information

Salary range: $52,670 - $62,670
