Responsibilities

Humana's Corporate Strategy team is a part of the broader Office of the Chief Strategy and Corporate Development Officer, which is Humana's end-to-end strategic growth planning function. The Office is composed of several teams which collectively own setting the strategic direction for the company, executing M&A/Joint Ventures/Strategic partnerships/venture investments to accelerate our strategy, managing the execution of the strategy, and integrating assets and driving value capture. Recent work includes:

• Partnered with private equity to purchase Kindred at Home and Curo Health Services to create the nation's largest Home Health and Hospice company as part of a broader strategy to transform the delivery of healthcare in the home (Named Private Equity Deal of the Year)
• Launched strategic collaboration with Walgreens to test innovative care models at retail, including in-store health navigation and senior-focused, value-based primary care
• Made minority investment and deepened strategic relationship with Iora Health, a leading technology driven, value-based primary care start-up
• Launched Conviva, a leading payer agnostic value-based primary care provider, by consolidating Humana's collection of owned and JV primary care assets in Florida and Texas under a single physician-driven brand and innovative structure and operating model

Humana's Corporate Strategy team is a small, high-performing group that works closely with Humana's senior leadership to chart the course for the company's future. In Strategy, you will identify and analyze exciting new growth opportunities and work with business leaders to prioritize strategic investments and execute strategic transformation. The Strategy team leads weekly meetings with Humana's CEO and management team and frequently deliver strategy updates to the Board of Directors. The consultant role is modeled after top-tier management consultant experience. As such, day-to-day activities will include developing industry analysis, building high level financial/business modeling, conducting qualitative analysis (e.g. informational interviews) and synthesizing strategic options to create executive level deliverables and recommendations for Humana's senior leaders and Board.

In addition, strategy consultants will have exposure to Humana's M&A, Venture Capital and Acquisition Integration activities. All opportunities are located at Humana's headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky or can also be located in Fairfax, VA/DC offices.

Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering on a wide range of strategic activities, including ad hoc support of turnarounds and divestitures, strategic projects, and strategy execution
• Providing consulting services to Humana's lines of business to reduce utilization of external consulting support
• Supporting cross-functional projects, working with the management team and business presidents to execute complex, high-priority strategic initiatives
• Converting strategy into business cases and projects while prioritizing timelines and ensuring alignment and execution
• Managing internal and external relationships with key business partners
• Developing and refining key team operating systems

Required Qualifications:

• MBA or other graduate level relevant degrees (e.g. MPH, MFA, Data Science, Data Analytics, etc.)
• 1 - 3+ years of strategy consulting firm and/or corporate strategy experience
• Proven experience setting priorities and defining the future direction of a company or business unit (i.e. competitive analysis, strategy road map, strategic investment prioritization)
• Strong business acumen and analytical skills with proven ability to apply foundational strategy principles to a variety of business problems
• Proven experience working directly with and presenting to Executive-level management
• Ability to identify, structure and solve business problems
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and oral communication and presentation skills
• Demonstrated ability to interact with senior leadership internally and externally
• Commitment to professional and personal growth

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated data/business analysis experience
• 1 - 3+ years of healthcare industry experience

Additional:
This roll will be a WFH role until Humana begins the re-opening phase. Once this occurs, this positions will be a full-time, in office position located either at the Humana Tower, Louisville, KY or the DC/Fairfax office location
