The Sales Development Coordinator works closely with the Manager of Sales Development to train and develop the Sales Development Team (Associate and Specialist roles), utilizing training curricula, their own professional experience, and industry knowledge of best practices.

This position works with the account management and channel/content marketing teams to understand key objectives and product/program trends at accounts and then, in partnership with the Manager, Sales Development, co-develops customer-facing training modules that cover each area of focus, along with suggested products, giveaways, literature, and talk tracks that accompany each topic.

The individual accompanies the Sales Development Team in the field to
supervise, train, and check for understanding on the various training modules put in place, as well as to offer additional training and coaching to ensure the established messaging and calls to action are conveyed for optimal results. They are seen as a leader and resource to the Sales Development Team, especially in the absence of the Manager, Sales Development in the field.

Training & Development 40%

  • Work closely with the Manager, Sales Development to co-develop training curricula for Sales Development Team, based on experience, feedback, and industry knowledge

  • Supervise, train, and coach Sales Development Team both in the field and office, especially in the absence of the Manager, Sales Development, using established training curricula and expertise

  • Train and coach team members during sales events as part of the structured sales development curriculum, ranging from in-depth training for new team members to more refined coaching for fully trained team members

  • Use judgement and knowledge to gauge efficacy of demo and training activities in the field/office, sharing feedback, areas of opportunity, and significant coaching instances with the Manager, Sales Development to manage team progress and improve the training curriculum


Event Material Development, Coverage, & Incentive Management 30%

  • Support various sales events directly through on-site participation, as assigned by the Manager, Sales Development Develop regular thematic training demos that span all event styles, in conjunction with channel/content marketing

  • Coordinate the event preparation process and ensure that a comprehensive "training module" with all applicable products, collateral, and supporting materials, ensuring they are ordered, on-hand, and ready for training and use

  • Ensure that all support team members are trained and comfortable with each "module" prior to the start of the active demo/training period

  • Coordinate the ordering and administration of gift cards, prizes, and other incentives for various event support needs

  • Maintain inventory of incentives


Special Projects & Assignments 15%

  • Coordinate/support special projects for the Sales Development Team, as governed by the greatest needs at the time, including, but not limited to:

  • Development and execution of various training materials

  • Leading or delegating DMR (Direct Market Reseller) incentive trips or other specific account needs

  • Supporting field sales teams in tradeshows and other events


Sales Support Inbox Coverage 10%

  • Schedule sales support inbox duty among available Sales Development Associate and Specialist team members based on availability between events and curriculum readiness, with direction from the Manager, Sales Development

  • As part of the regular schedule, directly cover the sales support inbox and phone rotation directly to recognize trends in customer requests and ensure best practices are being maintained

Reporting 5%

  • Submit monthly and ad-hoc report(s) to the Manager, Sales Development and remain informed on report status of colleagues

  • Provide feedback on the effectiveness of the report to best meet the needs of the team, in conjunction with the Manager, Sales Development

Requirements:

  • 2 years of sales/selling, with emphasis on driving results

  • Ability to travel domestically 2-3 times a month by air (once travel resumes)

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to plan and orchestrate events and projects, through acumen for time management, organization, and follow-up

  • Ability to identify deficiencies and opportunities in resource allocation and processes, and make recommendations for improvement

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, Management, or similar field

  • 1 year's experience training new or entry-level team members in a sales/selling environment

  • 1 year of professional experience in a related industry or in learning new product lines or technology quickly

  • Use of a sales Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool (SAP C4C preferred)
