Primary Position Function/Summary:
Provide recruitment and admissions coordination and leadership in a fast-paced, professional student-focused and results-driven environment. Collaborate with Academic Programs and Departmental staff on recruitment initiatives to drive undergraduate enrollment growth through the development of strategic recruitment and relationships.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Recruitment
- Provide leadership to ACES undergraduate recruitment efforts by working closely with ACES departmental recruiters and academic advisors as well as staff in the Office of Academic Programs with the goal of growing overall undergraduate student enrollment.
- Establish and maintain an undergraduate recruitment budget in consultation with the Associate Dean for Academic Programs.
- Reach out and encourage prospective students to explore and eventually apply to College of ACES majors by coordinating and hosting college-wide visits and prospective and admitted student events, making phone calls, sending informational emails and building personal relationships.
- Counsel and advise prospective students as they move through the admissions process including consulting with them on program fit, answering questions about the admissions process, alleviating concerns, and assisting with application submissions.
- Actively manage and report on the prospective student pipeline, work towards admissions goals, and assist in admissions event planning.
- Present at recruiting events, both in-person and online.
- Establish a high-quality recruitment experience for interested candidates in the College of ACES.
- Work some evening and weekend hours, and travel within the state of Illinois as needed.
- Assume additional appropriate academic duties as assigned to further the mission of ACES Academic Programs.
Admissions- Evaluate admissions applications; apply discretion and independent judgment in evaluating and comparing applications and gathering information in preparation for admission consideration; and provide input to the admissions team for admissions decisions.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONSEducation
Required: Bachelor's degree
Preferred: Master's degree in an ACES related major
Experience
Required: Two years of professional experience. Experience working with diverse populations.
Preferred: Minimum of one year of relevant experience in recruiting, admissions or sales.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Required: Excellent organizational and communication skills, ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, and proven success in managing across multiple stakeholders. Must demonstrate a service-oriented attitude for working with faculty and students. Working knowledge of computer related databases and office related software.
SALARY AND APPOINTMENT DETAILS: Commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is a full time, 100% professional appointment.
